So people come up with this 'it doesn't happen to white people' nonsense. I wouldn't even say that white people are privileged that it is less likely to occur because that isn't true either if you take into account things you need to: the type of neighborhood, the activities one is engaging in, etc. Everyone is treated worse in ghettos. Police are on higher alert.
My back friends that I went to school with would be equally shocked to have police treat them poorly. They grew up upper middle class in a nice neighborhood and have -0- experiences that match black people from poor neighborhoods.
Even BLM members have told some blacks 'you're not black enough' because they aren't POOR and black. THOSE blacks have the same privileges as whites.
Remember that pool party that got out of control and a Texas cop got out of control? Look at the attitudes of those black teens. They were (rightly) feeling entitled to better treatment. They were shocked and horrified. They had never seen such. They were privileged just like the white kids.
They were unafraid to confront the cops, to fight when taken down - teenage girls. They obviously had NO fear of being shot.
I've seen other shootings where the black person is unafraid/unsuspecting in the beginning - less afraid than I am. I am very careful with cops.
I've been pulled over three times for this stupid problem with a tail/brake light. I roll my windows down. Have my hands up when they approach, etc. Last time he was explaining that no, it is not just when I apply the brakes. I asked, 'may I get out?'. I would not just assume I can. Not anymore.
PS reading that again I remember being busted at a party. All of us. Like maybe 100 kids, sort of like this pool party. They made us all (white) lay on the ground like we were all being arrested. Two of us thought we could sneak off, being in the back. Nope, we were dragged back and again ordered on the ground. And we stayed there. That was our only saving grace and it was 99% white kids in a nice hood.
Who knows what they'd have done had we run or disobeyed them again like what occurred in the pool party video that went viral.
