Hilarious, the gap between the cluster of schools in the south and east, then the one way out west.
That looks like your neck of the woods.

Why in the hell should we do that?

I graduated from US Grant high School in Oklahoma City in 1961, I also attended McKinley High in St Louis Mo part of my senior year.

edit: Unfortunately, McKinley was only a Major in the Union Army, not a General.

I haven't searched out its specific location, but it's my side of the state. Just a weird spot for it to be.

Like there was a rogue band of Confederates conducting border raids on Idaho.

Do you believe in naming schools after George Custer? He was genocidal. And, a fool who got a lot of his troops killed.

Again, these men were not traitors to their HOME STATES.

    Only against an invading army.

Just as Washington, Jefferson, the Adams boys, and Alexander were..."traitors" to the Crown, but, not their homes.

How many schools are named after US Grant? I think he was a brilliant General, but, he also commanded over pillage, rape, executions (mostly of young boys and old men, defending their homes), the burning of a city, and a mass abandonment of freed slaves......

Does that sound like a guy you would want to name a school after?

IT is ATHLETIC at High School and College (VERY athletic, and lots of work, in College.....)

I still think Dancing is a better pastime (I do not dance, but....if I could, I could dance as long as I can move....)

I also think Golf is perhaps the best sport, even though, I do not Golf. For much the same reason....

    Why shouldn't we?

    OH, I see.

Maybe we should simply allow only DEMOCRATS and LEFTISTS name schools.

Might as well, they already set the vast majority of the curriculum.....

BUT, if we were to be FAIR...oh, wait, I forgot, the Left is too "superior" to be "fair....."

You certainly do have a way of making the violation of an oath you take to defend your country not seem so bad.

Sounds like you're arguing schools shouldn't be named after a guy like Robert E. Lee too.

Conservatives only name schools after Confederates? Seriously? I highly doubt that.

Ultimately, Grant fought for the United States of America. So did Washington et al. I'm not aware that he ordered troops to rape and pillage; I'd have to see the evidence.

Confederate Generals fought to tear our country apart.
