Map Showing Schools Named After Confederate Generals

Okay, so here's a map showing schools named after Confederates...

Maybe there are rebels in Washington who want their state to leave the Union and join Canada.

We weren't even a state when the Civil War was being fought.

Hilarious, the gap between the cluster of schools in the south and east, then the one way out west.

The assumption behind the OP is absurd.

Someone can be a confederate general and be many other things that more fully define what that person meant to a community...

Founder of a school, noted philanthropist, teacher, doctor, community leader, etc.

One famous bomber pilot was also a prominent liberal.

This kind of broad demonizing and grouping of people into pre-selected assumptions breed more idiocy.

Whats wrong with naming a school after a famous bomber pilot?

You can remove that dot in south central Texas. School district just voted to rename the RE LEE high school.

They removed the rebellion flag as the school's symbol in the 90's. Progress is always on the move.

I hope you mean the assumption made by the source of the map is absurd. Because the point of the OP is the absurdity of a school in Washington State named after a Confederate general who never knew the state even existed. Also the absurd appearance of the map.

Unless... what you are assuming that a long dead traitor meant to a community that didn't exist during his lifetime? Cuz, yeah... that might be absurd too.

We should simply scrap the names of ALL schools, and call them by number, as the Russians do.

Also, eliminate ALL school mascots, as they might offend someone, somewhere, somehow.
