No. He just graduated from high school with them. He don't like no people makin' no fun of his friends. Specially no big city folks!

Or maybe they were really just down home racists who were jerking the reporter's chain...

No doubt they were down home racists. Whether they had the intelligence to jerk the reporter's chain is debatable.

You obviously have a problem with the truth.

Um, gee. They spent some SIGNIFICANT amount of time putting together that whole display on their front porch there.

Just to JERK the reporter's chain?!?!??

That is a VERY silly hypothesis you are putting forth for us to contemplate.......

Was referring to their comments to the reporter. Not the display.

    But whatever....

Yeah, I'm still not 'getting' what you are trying to say here.......You're saying you think these two are just FAKING their whole 'racist' act, to jerk this reporter's chain?

Racism is a "belief" - so no word or symbol can inherently be racist. It would depend on the intent and the beliefs of the person using them. Not everyone who brandishes a confederate flag is a racist. Just like not everyone who uses the word "redneck" is a racist - though certainly there are racists who do use that word - just as there are racist who do don the confederate flag.

As far as this particular display.... the black mannequins are very..... weird.... and certainly suggests at a racial motive. My guess is this couple is just trying to stir up controversy (which it appears they have). But until it causes a serious disturbance to the peace or something along those lines it is protected expression. But my inclination is this is probably a racial provocation.

My advice to their community would be to simply ignore it for the stupidity that it is.

How about we try going a whole other direction and look for ways to find common ground with each other instead of making excuses for ignorant displays like this by people too gutless to admit their real motives?

I really think "pride" in any culture that thought thought it was a-okay to own human beings is desperately misplaced. Why are people so eager to let the world know they are hateful bigots to begin with? I can't imagine the thought process behind it.

"Wait till people sees this! They're gonna shit themselves!" "Yeah, I can't wait to see the looks on the faces of them black people down the street! They gonna be so pissed!!"

Is this what passes for pride in deplorable country?
    Thanks from BigLeRoy

They are not dumb kids and grew up in a house with a father who's a WWII buff!

(of course they never listened to me anyway so there is that)

My DEA war stories clears the room very quickly! lol
Is basic history still taught in school? Even without school that subject seems to be quite known.
