Should've asked her whether she ever saw the movie "Mary Poppins."

Yup we instituted a new law where parents can object over anything at all and they can leave the room and go read a book. Nobody really felt it would be used much, but lo and behold it happens way more. Parents dont want math taught, science taught, health taught and now even parents are objecting to gym class where sports are considered too "competitive." Backfired massively.

Many parents over the years have objected to 'The Wizard of Oz'---both the movie and the book-----because it features a 'good witch', the good witch Glinda. And of course there is NO SUCH THING as a 'good witch'.

Leastways iff'n you buhleeve what ya read in the Holey Bible!

So I'm not going to bother defending actions I never took in the first place.

As to your second portion - we have the right to freely express ourselves in this country - and that includes those who you would consider to be "hateful bigots". You are certainly at liberty to believe their expression is desperately misplaced if you want. That's not something I would disagree with you about and I suspect they are racists as well. My point was only that they have a right to free expression just like the rest of us do. The first amendment doesn't only just protect popular speech but unpopular speech as well.
Fair enough, I just think it's more than just one horribly ignorant couple doing this sort of thing. And I don't mean being racist, that's always been around, but rather proudly creating displays of symbols of hatred.

    This last weekend:

Neo-Nazis Burned a Swastika After Their Rally in Georgia

I can't see one valid reason anyone would want to make such a spectacle out of their own feelings. As if "I hate you" is some sort of message people need to hear to make the world a better place. Seems incredibly self-centered to me.
    Thanks from Tedminator

Oh, I'm sure she would have considered that a tool of the Devil as well. Never underestimate the nuttiness of fundamentalist religions.

I don't understand Neo-Nazis either and believe calling them self-centered to be overly-generous. They are hate-filled bigots and despicable human beings.

But Americans are entitled to their first amendment rights rather I approve of them or not. That was my only point.

I agree. Hey, Nice Rainbow Trout. How big was it and where was it caught? Just curious.

It was caught in George Lake in the Kaiser Wilderness, Sierra Nevada. It wasn't very big, but compared to most trout in the high elevation lakes, it was a whopper, maybe a pound or so.
