So kids who lean left for the most part, being schooled by teachers who lean left for the most part, don't know who fought in a war and you blame fox, trump and the republicans?

    1. So we can not shun murderous, genocidal ideologies because you don't think they "killed anyone in america" lately?

    2. bike lock attack guy tried to murder someone at an antifa attack.

    3. when was the last time a confederate soldier killed in the name of the confederacy?

    What a shitty excuse.

100 million dead under communists..... how much of a pass should we give those who fly the flag of such a murderous ideology?

The Superintendent (whose name I am forgetting) argued that students didn't actually need to KNOW anything anymore. Why? Well, they could just look stuff up on the Internet! So, if they needed to know, say, when the Civil War happened, they could just go to the Internet, and Hey Presto! They would find out that it took place in 1861-1865. Why make them memorize such dates?

This, friends, is how you end up with students who mix up the Civil War of the 1860's with the Civil Rights Struggle of the 1960's, and so have no chronological sense of history. This is how you end up with students who think we were fighting China and Russia in World War II. Because we have educrats who just don't think they NEED to know that kind of stuff!

So one anecdotal proves what exactly?

Can you show me any school policy or cirriculum that states NOT to cover things like WWII?

Kids are mainly apolitical. They aren't paying attention to politics. The few that are will lean whichever way their parents lean. Teachers unions are pretty liberal, but teachers are all over the board from libertarian to authoritarian, from right wing to left wing. There's not much consistency there.

If a kid can get through 12 years of school without knowing who fought the revolutionary war, it's a sign he was more interested in professional wrestling or the girl sitting next to him.
Or, in the case of girls, the guy sitting next to her and what the current style is.
    Thanks from pragmatic and BigLeRoy

I don't like repeating myself, so just go back to page 2 in this thread, and read my post #12, where I answered this EXACT SAME QUESTION.

It's the dumbing down of America and yes, Trumpsim fueled by Fox noise is the major contributor. They both are expert at telling folks what they want to hear whether it's true or not. It's like the bully at school, all show and no go. And Trump voters have led the way in their support of stupidity and their continued support of lies as truth.
    Thanks from BigLeRoy
