Why are CIA/FBI advising redaction of Kennedy investigation docs?

What could logically explain the pleas from the intelligence community not to reveal information about the Kennedy assassination?

There were no "reasons given" other than the standard "this should be a secret, people knowing it would harm national security."

What information could possibly "harm national security?" I'm asking you to speculate.

Well for this one time, i agree with the previous post.. i cannot see - no matter how much imagination i try to put into it - what national security could be at risk TODAY, if there would be all documents in regards to JFK be released now, with no blacked out sections whatsoever.
Whatever would be in there - and even if the CT crazies would get their confirmation, that the CIA killed him (absurd, but just for the argument) - how could this still TODAY be a national security risk ?

That's because the dirt that's in those files is on the president. It's not on the assassinator.

You're the one saying that National Security is the only reason to not reveal the files.

'There may be information that the CIA and or FBI obtained that may compromise people in other countries that worked with the CIA and or the FBI..who are still alive and if that information were divulged, their anonymity would be broken.

There also may be methods in which we gather[ed] intel ...still in use today... that the IC does not want divulged.

There could be a whole host of reasons that have nothing to do with the assignation ...per se that the IC would still want kept secret.
