'Fox Business' Commentator Tells 'Daily Show', 'If You're Poor, Stop Being Poor'

After watching Aasif Mandvi's segment on Thursday's "Daily Show," two things are clear: 1) America has the greatest healthcare system in the world (if 37th place is considered the greatest), and 2) some people shouldn't do interviews with "Daily Show" correspondents.
Case in point, "Fox Business" commentator and NYSE Euronext Managing Director Todd Wilemon has a couple of jaw-dropping moments in this interview about "third world" healthcare conditions in Knoxville, Tennessee, not the least of which is his statement right at the end: "If you're poor, stop being poor."
Watch the clip above, and keep an eye out for one of the more awkward pauses in "Daily Show" history.

Yeah, we're number one in health care as long as you are wealthy enough to be able to afford it. Keep fucking that chicken, cons.

The sad part is that there are actually morons in this country who believe we are number one in healthcare.

that's who the real morons are. The Republicans candidates that say stupid shit, the commentators, they are all pretty intelligent individuals, advnaced degrees. They say those things to get votes or viewers. So the true morons are those that watch and listen and believe the bs being spewed

Technically everyone that has less than a billion dollars on their accounts is a serf, as they don't hold the chains of the global financial system. Todd Wilemon therefore is not a multi-billionaire (using his own logic) because he wants to be poor.

But Congress DOES have the best healthcare in the world.
The Office of the Attending Physician ensures that they do...

"stop being poor?!?" Are you MAD? Where will we get our low skilled, below minimum wage workers if everyone decided not to be poor? And what about the demand for "free stuff" like the Obama phones (passed out under George W. Bush)?

If all the poor decided to stop being poor, then what would republican do for stereotypes? You know, the "Welfare queen" and the folks we've all heard of (on Faux Noise) who pay for their gambling sprees, in Vegas, using a SNAP card?

If everybody stopped being poor, who would ring out their orders at the grocery store, who will make them coffee, who will clean the bulidings they work in, who will drive taxis, who will drive buses, who will cook and serve them food at restaurants, etc etc etc.

The same people that say they should stop being poor don't want to do anything to stop them from being poor, like raising minimum wage. These bozos talk about their ass
    Thanks from labrea

But think about the CEOs and rightwing politicians! How can they laud the benefits of poor people pulling themselves up, by their non-existent bootstraps, if they all decide to stop being poor! What will they do when they can't be BETTER than the poor anymore?
    Thanks from Friday13 and TennesseeRain
