Dontrell Stephens: Shooting not current, video of shooting is

    http://www.nydailynews.com/news/crim...icle-1.2197139

The new video not only shows how quickly the deputy acted in using deadly force, but that responding officers were complicit, Scarola claims.

Lin can be heard talking to a fellow deputy after the shooting.

"He starts backing away," Lin said. "I said, ‘Get on the ground, get on the ground.’”

"I got your back man,” the fellow cop told Lin. “I got your back. Hey, you hear me?”

ThePalm Beach County Sheriff’s Office isn't commenting on the suit.

The video alluded to in this video is found in the third post.

And oh yes; absolutely. Paralyzed from the waist down is a completely logical sentence for marijuana possession. However, in the video, he doesn't run. He goes to speak to the officer, realized he's facing a loaded gun, turns and runs and is shot in the back with no commands to stop being issues.

    Here
When you promote a gun culture (guns are the solution to gun problems) the "answer" is to shoot someone because the culture is that we should all carry, in order to solve the problem of people shooting one another.

The "solutions" also seems to be to shoot to kill, NOT to defend (fend off or disable an attackers attack). It is also no secret that some people believe they should play judge and jury and "save" the public, the expense of both a trial and detaining criminals.

It should be remembered this is not indicative of all police forces and law enforcement personnel, but such attitudes even as a small portion of the overall numbers of law enforcement in this nation, can do a lot of damage, not only to their victims, but to the reputation of honest, caring and responsible cops who see the use of their firearms as the very last resort and even then, not using it with the intent to kill or fill a human being with massive numbers of bullets.

The Catch 22 in all of this is that the crooked or overreacting law enforcement officers do not present a reason to stand still and submit, but the opposite and a reason to run for one's life. While there might be a reason to stop someone from getting away, there is no justification to claim "self-defense" when an officer has shot (especially when they kill) someone running away from them, especially when they are unarmed.

Well, you know . . . there's sort of no words. The kid turns his back and POW. POW POWPOW.

The video shows very clearly that there was no threat to the cop - the kid was walking away, FFS. Just like the Walker Scott case, who ran away during a simple traffic stop. You can't shoot someone in the back repeatedly and pretend it was self defense when there's video evidence to the contrary RIGHT THERE. You can't claim in your incident report that you rendered first aid to the man you just shot eight times in the back when the fucking video shows you planting evidence to implicate the poor bastard, instead.

    It's mind boggling.

I'm sure there are good cops, I certainly hope there are, but the sheer volume of the bad cop shit that's coming out lately is overwhelming. Disturbing. Scary. I mean, with so many bad cops out there . . . shit, you can't even die in an auto accident without being violated by these fuckers.

Unless they are posing a threat to another person.

    Which this cat Clearly. Wasn't.

I think though, that the lack of comment is the comment, @BDBoop. I mean, we have seen this happening with such regularity that there are just no new ways to express our disgust, and dismay over this. So, until someone - say the Justice Department - steps in, and forces changes in the way we do law enforcement, any further comment, beyond continuing to shine a light on what is happening seems rather superfluous.

The only area I would explore that I don't think has been explored is my concern over "what comes next". I mean we have all these states, and municipalities loosening gun regulations. Now we are inundated with a practically daily barrage of videos, and stories of cops being violently stupid, and vicious. How long is it going to be before people start carrying guns, and just preemptively start shooting cops, when the cops try to stop them, out of fear that this is exactly what the cops are going to do to them?

I hope everybody is watching the third video. That old man shouldn't even have a job.
