Its absurd, a waste of money, and a waste of resources for the US government, the world's largest arms dealer and most proliferate dealer of violence to research the causes of "gun violence". When the government uses violence as their primary tool on every level to implement their will, there should be no question as to why others view violence as a legitimate path to resolve their issues.

The CDC should probably just stick with studying viruses and bacteria. If it can't manage simple safety protocols in the handling and transportation of germs, it shouldn't be taking on new areas of research.

Are there any federal agencies that haven't been politicized?

I agree. It should investigate bullets.

However...Wild Bill Hickok used to smack culprits, unconscious with his pistols...so that might be an exception.

Those 30,000 gun deaths a year, and rising, are just a sign of a healthy 2 amendment.

I hardly have heard about anyone. It seems to me that everything in this country is politicized. just look around. Military, medicare, education and even environmental protection.
It is hard to realize but we live in the USA - a political dominant in the world.

Violence is violence. Doesn't matter what form it takes. "gun violence" is a stupid term. It's like saying we've got to do something about pool drownings. The issue is not the damn pools, it's the drownings.
You can kill with a gun or you can beat someone to death with a stick.

But only one at a time and not from across the street or from a moving car...and could be stopped before killing 26 people...
