Know why I respect transgender people? Because, in my opinion, they are the bravest people in the world. I mean that.
In my old country, this is what they face every day if they walk the streets as they are

These good Christians, in Russia, Georgia, etc, teach their children that it is okay to spit, beat, and, yes, kill people for not acting in proper gender norms!
These people get thrown into psychiatric institutions, without any real cause: The TransAdvocate | Psychiatric abuse of transgender people: a case from Russia

I am half Armenian, an ethnic minority, we do get mistreated and disrespected for our ethnicity. But we have groups on our side, our own gangs, the Armenian mob
People who fight back and defend us, basically.
Gays, homosexuals, they are also beat up and brutalized by the law enforcement and such, but they too have activists who fight for them. AntiFA, the Russian anti-fascist, anti-racist, far left movement has entire groups who devote themselves to defending the gays
Nobody is there to fight for the trans though, pretty much. Nobody wants to be associated with them.
And yet, they come out and stand up for themselves: WATCH: Russian Lawyer Comes Out as Trans In Protest of Anti-LGBT Laws | Advocate.com
