I see it as much ado about nothing but the fact that it is meaningless is a pretty good reason to end it. Why bother protecting a system that sounds so bad just because it all works out the same. How about letting an election stand alone and give party favored people badges instead since it is all tokenism.

We've never had an election like this that brings forth the fault lines, I give her credit for swimming against the establishment; don't you???

Even Pelosi gets something right occasionally.

This discussion comes up with every election. Read this article from 2010 after the 2008 election. It was the same argument, with the losing candidate fear of superdelegates taking the popular and state vote out of voters hands which has never happened and this was the contention summed up. Suoerdelegates always go with the winning candidate. All Bernie has to do is get the popular vote like Hillary, win more set state delegates like Hillary, and perhaps if it is UNBELIEVABLY CLOSE by the convention perhaps even win more states like Hillary:

"But in 2008, there was a problem. Obama's delegate lead reached a point where it was essentially insurmountable, given the fact that there was a) a proportional distribution of delegates in each state and b) very few opportunities for Clinton to win the massive share of the popular vote necessary to cut into the lead in any meaningful way.

But at the same time, the superdelegates were numerous enough to tighten, perhaps even decide the race. And so there was this prolonged period where the superdelegates lived in fear of getting calls from Terry McAuliffe, and the country wondered if the Democratic Party -- you know, the party of the little guy! -- would allow its collection of big-wigs and swells to supercede the actual voting public."

Superdelegates have NEVER gotten that call to undermine the voter's votes, like EVER.

I'll add that when they do end superdelegates that same 20% of delegates would be set into the popular vote of the state meaning the candidate who wins the delegate rich state of California would still get the edge of more delegate wins.

    Nope.

Now is EXACTLY the time to pan the system, when everyone is watching.

The time to FIX the system is IN BETWEEN elections.

But now is a great time to get the ball rolling...
