GOP Senate Intel Member: Exhaustive investigation into Trump-Russia connections.....

GOP Senate Intel Member: Exhaustive investigation into Trump-Russia connections needed following Flynn resignation...snip

Flynn resigned Monday evening amid revelations that he misled Vice President Mike Pence about conversations he had in December with Russia's ambassador to the US about sanctions placed on Russia. Pence had defended Flynn on television and denied he discussed sanctions after initial reports of the conversations.
"I think everybody needs that investigation to happen," Blunt said on KTRS radio. "And the Senate Intelligence Committee, again that I serve on, has been given the principle responsibility to look into this, and I think that we should look into it exhaustively so that at the end of this process, nobody wonders whether there was a stone left unturned, and shouldn't reach conclusions before you have the information that you need to have to make those conclusions."

"But the Senate Intelligence Committee is looking at this," he continued. "I would think that we should talk to Gen. Flynn very soon and that should answer a lot of questions. What did he know? What did he do? And is there any reason to believe that anybody knew that and didn't take the kind of action they should have taken?"
"For all of us, finding out if there's a problem or not and sooner rather than later is the right thing to do," he added.

guess what just became the equivalent of "the Nixon tapes"?

Flynn's phone. It's thought that there is encrypted data on it.

The tapes, btw, Nixon set up because of leaks in his WH.

    Then there's this.

While it is not clear what he said in his F.B.I. interview, investigators believed that Mr. Flynn was not entirely forthcoming, the officials said.

Plus Sean Spicer said Trump has launched an investigation into said leaks?

The White House Plumbers, sometimes simply called the Plumbers, were a covert White House Special Investigations Unit, established July 24, 1971, during the presidency of Richard Nixon. Its task was to stop the leaking of classified information, such as the Pentagon Papers, to the news media. Its members branched into illegal activities while working for the Committee to Re-elect the President, including the Watergate break-in and the ensuing Watergate scandal

the similarities between the Trump and Nixon administration are uncanny. That's not even hyperbole either. It was Nixon trying to cover up the truth that ultimately took him down. Spicer already confirmed as much in Trump's case. From his press conference what we now can surmise is that the Trump administration deliberately delayed providing the press full disclosure of what they knew, while they engaged in an effort to determine whether what Flynn did was illegal. They sent Kellyanne out there to claim that Flynn had the presidents full support. Trump implausibly claimed that he knew nothing about the reports of Flynn misleading the VP and the WH Chief of Staff. To only now finally settling on the even more implausible narrative the Flynn was let go because of a "lack of trust". (BTW Ms. "conflict of interest" , you claimed you had Trump's full support just like you claimed Flynn did. Flynn is now gone ).

Trump asked Flynn to resign because of a "lack of trust"?

How stupid does this administration think people are? They let Flynn go because the media , at long last, did their job. Trump knew there were reports of Flynn not being honest all along. He's a bald-faced liar himself. The only thing that's been consistent with this administration is the lies they are willing to tell. An administration that sends out it's surrogates to lie on a daily basis has no credibility when it claims that an adviser was asked to resign because they were dishonest. In fact, if this weren't all so serious it would be laughable.
