That will be easily abused in the future by a politicized Justice Department.

Furthermore, this waiting game has been rather ridiculous. I understand Comey wants to do things his way, the way he perceives is the right way, but when he approached Sessions and said "This didn't happen, we need to shoot this down" and got rebuffed, his response should have been "Bullshit, it did not happen and I will make it known right now in the full light of day, and if you don't like it you can fire me."

Trump is probably going to fire him sooner or later, as soon as he feels like he can get away with it. He's under pressure from his advisers to do a clean break from the Obama administration ― no leftovers of any kind. The FBI director is tradtionally allowed to complete a 10-year term no matter the political differences, but that's not codified into law.

So it's a struggle to imagine what Comey feels like he has accomplished by not commenting on the matter up to this point.
Especially when Comey announced he would serve out his term. What in the world caused Comey to go on that tirade? I have posted the link about his investigation of the Clinton Foundation, but would a man so well known for his fairness go off the reservation like that?

Nunes is having an awful time trying to smooth things over.especially when he is with Schiff. Schiff is having none of it and speaks his mind. Nunes looks shame faced. His character is on the line, too. Defend Trump at your own risk, because he has loyalty to no one.

It's funny. Feinstein and Grassley came out of an intelligence meeting last week. Grassley was fuming. He yelled on the phone with the Washington Post, calling executive branch officials "liars" for not reporting to his committee when they had promised to in their confirmation hearings. Later, the junior senator from his state called for Trump to release his tax returns.

Feinstein was quoted as saying she thought Trump would "take himself out" of the presidency before his term is ended.

    Hmmm....
In that first meeting with the press Grassley was stumbling around like a person who just learned about a death. Feinstein was grim and said," she understood how the Chairman feels." That was the first inkling that Grassley had bad news. Your post about him shouting further confirms it.

Grassley had a shouting match with Frankenstein over Jeff Sessions lying. Grassley is not having a good month.

He is one of the three that cost us Single payer,so tough! I do not feel sorry for him.

Which is pretty much what he is supposed to do in this case. As an officer of the law he should be answering questions and keeping his fucking stupid opinions to himself. But that's not what he did in the case of Hillary. He did answer the questions and said no charges should be filed and the state does not have a case and Hillary did not lie to the FBI. That is where he should have stopped, that is all they asked him but no, he had to go on with his meaningless saying she was "careless". What the fuck is "careless" but an opinion? If it had been a real court of law the defense would have immediately objected and said "the court is not interested in your opinion sir, you have answered the question". Comey was terribly unprofessional in that first questioning and I wonder if he will include any of his worthless personal opinions this time around.

Grassley is a necessary and somewhat respectable Senate traditionalist, despite everything. He probably couldn't stand that A) Sessions, his colleague for years, had the gall to lie to his committee ― even to Democratic questions he believes are unfounded ― and B) McConnell pressured him to not make any noise about it.

If the investigation into the Russian links to Trump was underway, why did Comey not mention it when he damned Hillary to losing by unnecessarily "reopening" her investigation for a week?

Yet it is okay when liberals post from Media matters and Daily KOS. Read it and show proof where it is false
