Exclamation House conservatives say they have the votes to defeat ObamaCare replacement

So, looks like the American Health Care Act or Trumpcare is DOA! Is it any wonder? And with it being election year next year for some Republicans the only reason some of them are showing the pretense of even "caring" is that they surely don't want to sock it to their elderly constituents, the poor, the disabled and the ill and consequently end up losing their seats in Congress as they surely would. The Republican bill is simply a No-Go.

"Members of the conservative House Freedom Caucus said Monday night that they are confident they have enough votes to defeat the GOPís ObamaCare replacement bill unless substantial changes are made."
"President Trump is coming to the House GOP conference meeting on Tuesday and is expected to urge passage of the measure. But Freedom Caucus lawmakers say pressure will not get to them, and promised they would be able to resist the president himself."
"The Freedom Caucus was joined in its meeting by Sens. Ted Cruz (R-Texas), Rand Paul (R-Ky.) and Mike Lee (R-Utah), who all also have strong objections to the House bill."

This is about 1) Losing the fundraising whipping boy of Obamacare
    2) Unwillingness to own the replacement, whatever it is
    3) A deep sense that the Trump administration is in the process of an irrevocable derail, in political if not legal terms, and unwillingness to link up with that train

This is not about honest opposition to what the bill does. Yes, Medicaid expansion becomes that much more an institution if a rainbow shooting out of Donald Trump's ass happens to guide the bill to his desk against all odds.

But, c'mon: Only the most self-deluding shit-for-brains in Congress actually believes that it can be undone without instantly fatal consequences — literally in terms of the patients affected, and figuratively in terms of the representatives' political careers once the impact sinks in. Obamacare was deliberately written to make its big accomplishments nigh impossible to actually undo. Its authors were not idiots and knew from a pretty early time period that they would lose the House at least sooner rather than later.

So the "Freedom" Caucus — the usual suspects who advocate policies that lead to mass incarceration, back-alley abortions and dead drug addicts who were afraid to go to the police — is cynically torpedoing this legislation to guard their hides and keep their hypocrisy alive. And hey, this is a way of exacting some revenge they all want in their heart of hearts. Ted Cruz, they believe (perhaps not without reason) would've beaten Hillary also, but Trump got in his way.

Cruz would've given them all they want and more, and actually would've been tough for the Democrats to beat given the advantages of incumbency and a Congress behind him. Instead they have Trump, who will give them what they want only if Fox News emphatically tells him it's a good idea, and who lacks the intellectual fortitude and personal stamina to see it implemented... meanwhile, he'll either be hounded out of office within the next four years or certainly fail to win re-election. They hate that, and this is how they are going to vent.

They just amended it again tonight (yesterday?)

Busy, busy, busy those Republicans in Congress. Early reports are, it's even more horrible now.
