I'm not saying that this had any bearing on her death, but it is one more piece of the puzzle:
Regardless of how it happen it is tragic. It could be a suicide or something more sinister. I am hopeful the authorities will figure out what happened.

The police are treating her death as a suicide, although an investigation is continuing. About three years ago, law enforcement officials said, her brother committed suicide. Last year around this time, her mother died.

According to one law enforcement official, Judge Abdus-Salaam called her Midtown Manhattan chambers on Tuesday morning to say she would not be coming in because she was not feeling well. When the judge failed to appear on Wednesday, her assistant sent a text to her husband of eight months, who called 911 to report her missing a short time later. Her body was found that afternoon, floating in the river by the shore near West 132nd Street.

It does look like she was a prime candidate for suicide=Family history, around the 1 year anniversary of her mothers death, a
recent marriage (one of a the major life changes that causes the most stress).

(with exeption of 2001 and 2008.. the economy boomed.) 2000 there was a tech bubble, 2008 and mortgage bubble. so yes.. I cannot believe that not one single year did obama's economy did GDP Growth Outpace inflation. 6 of 8 years Bush's economy outpaced inflation (which means there was Real GROWTH)..
It fucking crashed!! It's not "real growth" if all the gains are lost!

The Federal Reserve ran out of money!!

Good grief, how pigheadedly partisan does one have to be to attempt to whitewash the worst economic downturn since the great depression?

Maybe it's me, but my initial reaction was to the fact that a judge was found drowned, then that it was a woman judge, and then a Muslim. The reverse of the OP, in fact. Maybe it's an effect of living in a multicultural society that we interpret the significance of labels so differently. Not better or worse, just different.
