    Facebook in Decline

Publishers are seeing another big decline in reach on Facebook

The Facebook anguish continues. A Medium post investigating declining Facebook reach has set off the most recent alarm bells among publishers. Kurt Gessler, deputy editor for digital news at the Chicago Tribune, posted that since January, the Tribune has seen a significant drop in the reach of its posts on Facebook, despite having grown its fan base.

The post sparked a sigh of validation across publishers as others chimed in on social media that they’re seeing similar declines.

America may be losing its taste for Facebooks Trump-bashing and leftism.

In other news, California weather has worsened since they voted against Trump and Trumpism.

Facebook is doing fine - membership is up 17% over last year - which is huge, given the age of Facebook. The problem isn't Facebook; it's that publishers are having a harder time reaching them.

Perhaps it means that more users are realizing that a social media network isn't the best place for news.

If you want to talk about how climate change is junk science, make a thread, OldGaffer. This is about Facebook's decline.

Agreed, Djinn, social media is definitely not the place to get one's news. /duh/ people who do are just dumb.

So you admit you're dumb by coming to a political forum for your news? Got it.

I do think the social platform is reaching the end of its life, but not due to political bias. (If one exists, I doubt the Chicago Tribune would object. That's a very liberal paper.)

JMO, but I don't think it's actually supportive of RL relationships.
