Yes, and the good news is that this does not seem to be terror related.

Just read an update - yes he was under the influence.

So very sad - 1 person dead, 22 injured. I hope this guy never see's the light of day again.

Thankfully, this does not seem to be the case in this incident.
I'm sure this is a great relief to the families of and the victims themselves, yes. It MUST be.

    Great relief indeed.

    Coulda killed more.

Coulda been a terrorist killing the infidels for ISIS.

Coulda had a car bomb in his car and killed hundreds...or thousands.

    Coulda been a lot worse.

The good news is nobody I know or am likely to know was involved, by several degrees of separation, no less. The chances of this tragic stupidity impacting my life even indirectly are nearly zero.

Good thing every media outlet and blogosphere is reporting it like it matters outside of the tragic circle of the event itself.

Nothing but rubber necking at an ugly dramatic scene, that's what this is.
    Thanks from Blueneck

Goes to show you, when you hear about a car crash, think drunken or idiot driver as opposed to small terrorist groups not operating in America on an organized level of any form.

How's the saying go, when you hear the sound of hooves, think horses and not zebras?

Which would have no more tragic. In fact, probably less so because if terrorists had the success rate drunks do when it comes to killing people with vehicles I'd be a lot more worried.

.Every day, 28 people in the United States die in motor vehicle crashes that involve an alcohol-impaired driver. This amounts to one death every 53 minutes.1 The annual cost of alcohol-related crashes totals more than $44 billion.

I wonder how Americans would react if ISIS managed to kill this many people?

Except is was not a act of terrorism. And the NY police department probably has the best counterintelligence unit of any other city in the US.
