Their behavior is analogous to male chimpanzees establishing their relationship. They are testing each other.

I suppose you'd call it a pissing contest.

well, maybe our Fearless Leader should challenge Kim to a duel - that might resolve some issues.

If you had Halliburton, McDonnell Douglas or Raytheon shares, great.

If it was branches, no problem, but when they start shaking nukes, look out.

Siding with you on this issue, SD. I don't want war either, but it's high time that North Korea got her ass kicked.

There was quite a bit of coverage that China had stopped buying NK coal after the second last missile test and in fact turned back coal tankers from Chinese ports.

Then a couple of days ago Trump ragged on China for increasing trade with NK. But no where else was it reported.

Anyone hear about any of that?

Many countries can strike our country. The issue is that Kim was able to bait Trump and Trump has escalated the situation. War would not be with N. Korea so forget about it. War would be between N. and S. Korea and millions would die including US forces. We can't do shit because if we attack, China and Russia would step in and fight the US. There is no way China will allow boots on the ground in N. Korea aka their back yard.

    Dreamers.

    Really, I have no idea.

You've been giving this some thought, by the looks of your posts. What do you suggest?

Trump promised before the election that he was such a bad ass...no one would challenge him.

Tillerson and Hailey both gave speeches on NK saying that the days of placating Un were over.

There are few and even less good options dealing with NK...but every contender for President said that..

But not Trump. Mr. Fixit said he was going to fix everything.

Maybe someone should take the time to ask Un what he wants?

The best analysis I've heard is Un wants the US out, and China to back off and unification with the South. Maybe some type of normalization between N and S eases tensions.

But that is not likely since the US and China do not want to lose face. Keeping face and fucking up the region are far more important.

That's male gorrilas doing that. Chimpanzees fight wars almost exactly like we do: Young males ganging up to slaughter other gangs of young males in the fight for the mating rights to the females.
