Senate Republicans have to wait for McCain to get back from surgery

Hopefully by then even more people will hate their crappy healthcare bill.

    ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) announced Saturday night that the vote on Senate Republicans' ObamaCare repeal and replace bill would be delayed until a later date.

The news comes after Senator John McCain (R-Ariz.) released a statement that he would miss this week's votes as he recovers from surgery.

"Elaine and I, along with the entire Senate family, wish John the very best and wish him a speedy recovery," McConnell's statement read. "While John is recovering, the Senate will continue our work on legislative items and nominations and will defer consideration of the Better Care Act."

As opposed to the last crappy healthcare bill... when will people wise up and move to a more Libertarian attitude?

How many thousands of times does government have to fail us, how many nations have to be destroyed over... and over, again... before people stop believing in an all powerful government?

And I'll continue to attest to the reliability of Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid. Sorry. They work.

We DO need to keep funding them, of course.

Is this any more than a pathetic attempt to delay the egg-in-their-face defeat the Republican movers are going to get?

We had a "libertarian attitude" before the Great Depression. If your mom and dad got too old to work, they'd come live with you. You'd be poor and have to keep renting.

After Social Security, Mom and Dad could pay for their own place, so you could have enough money to buy a home.

Home ownership boomed. Moms and dads lived longer. Adult children stopped resenting their elderly moms and dads.

I guess if you consider this tyranny, I can't help ya!

I have never posted any opposition to basic collectivism orchestrated by a central government. We also need police, fire departments, etc. The problem with politicians who can get room to believe they are our intelectual benifactors is it always goes sideways. There has to be a firewall somewhere in there.

Wish Sen. McCain nothing but the best and hope for his speedy recovery.

This does put the GOP in a bind - now they will have the CBO score to contend and I'm betting it's as bad as it was before.
