I will add that this is nothing new for Texas. This hysteria driven anti LGBT crap has been going on for a long time::

Texas, the state that blessed us with George W. Bush, Rick Perry and Greg Abbot among others, now gives us Ken Paxton. Paxton, like Abbot, is yet another Attorney General who does not understand that the AG’s job is to enforce the law, not to actively subvert it. Nor does he know that his job is to protect the interests of all Texans, not just those that he believes are worthy of his services. And his job is certainly not to be grand standing by pushing through pointless legislation intended to appease the paranoid bigots and vilifying supporters of LGBT rights.

Reading this stuff makes me wish that we had not won the war with Mexico. Had we not-Texas would be Mexico’s problem, not ours. While a number of other states, particularly in Dixieland, rival the Taliban in their zeal and willingness to smite the infidel, stories out of Texas seem to be the most numerous and egregious at the moment.

Texas AG Ken Paxton Headlines Anti-Gay Marriage And Religious Freedom Event

    http://www.thenewcivilrightsmovemen....e_sex_marriage

Fresh off yet another defeat in a same-sex marriage case, anti-gay Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton is set to appear at an anti-gay hatefest near Austin.

On Tuesday night, Paxton will speak at the latest installment of "The Texas Response," a series of anti-gay rallies sponsored by Texas Values, the Liberty Institute and Concerned Women for America.
First his ridiculous legislative proposal which is unnecessary since the clergy are already protected by the first amendment……..

Texas Values' website says at the event their "team and other dynamic speakers will be there to fully explain the new Pastor Protection Law and discuss what Texas can do after the Supreme Court's ruling."

Of course, the so-called Pastor Protection Law did nothing but reaffirm existing protections for clergy and churches under the First Amendment, while more than 20 pieces of anti-LGBT legislation died in this year's Texas Legislature. But the aforementioned groups are desperately trying to snatch victory from the jaws of defeat, and raise money off pointless legislation that was ultimately supported by the state's two openly LGBT lawmakers.
Then, his vilifying of LGBT people:

At a previous installment of "The Texas Response," panelists advocated for ex-gay therapy, compared out lesbian Houston Mayor Annise Parker's administration to Nazi Germany, said the LGBT community wants to legalize pedophilia, and vowed to ram religious liberty down the throats of same-sex marriage supporters.
And perhaps his worst act was this:

Earlier this month, Paxton attempted to a block a lesbian widow out of her partner's estate, despite his previous pledge — under threat of contempt — not to defy the U.S. Supreme Court's ruling in Obergefell v. Hodges. But an Austin probate judge subsequently kicked Paxton out of the estate case, and recognized the lesbian couple's relationship as a common-law marriage.
And Paxton’s transgressions do not end with LGBT issues

Republican Attorney General Candidate Ken Paxton Eats With Racist Blog's Owner http://www.burntorangereport.com/di....st-blogs-owner

Recently, Urban Grounds blogger Robbie Cooper got to rub elbows with another top Texas Republican seeking his support. Burnt Orange Report has exposed the litany of hideous, racist posts on Cooper's website. He routinely hurls epithets at and degrades non-white people, degrades women and promotes violence.
To be fair, the problem goes beyond Paxton. After all, this is TEXAS

Unfortunately, top Texas Republicans Greg Abbott, Rick Perry and David Dewhurst have gotten close to Cooper to the point of giving him an exclusive interview (Abbott), an intimate shooting range visit (Perry), and a cozy dinner (Dewhurst). The Republican Attorney General candidate State Sen. Ken Paxton is the latest Republican to seek Cooper's approval.
And, it goes beyond racism and anti LGBT policies and actions:

    Blocking Birth Control Coverage

    | Progress Texas

Amid his criminal indictment on three felony charge s—and in an effort to distract from his legal woes —Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton is spearheading Republicans' political attack against access to reproductive healthcare in Texas. His targets: abortion and birth control.

Last week, Paxton filed a brief at the U.S. Supreme Court arguing that “female employees of religious nonprofits should not be given insurance coverage for birth control if their employers object to certain contraceptives on religious grounds.”
The thing is that religious nonprofits can already be exempted from the Affordable Care Act contraceptive mandate. So Paxton’s flimsy religious freedom excuse doesn'’t hold water. He wants women to be denied birth control coverage, plain and simple.
    More on Greg Abbot

Top Texas GOP Candidate Played Key Role In Denying LGBT Group A Spot At Republican Convention
WASHINGTON -- Two gay rights groups revealed this week that the Texas Republican Party has prohibited them from setting up a booth in the exhibition hall at the state's upcoming GOP convention. The reason, according to the party, is that what the groups are advocating runs counter to the GOP platform, which prohibits same-sex marriage.
Of course, all of this just scratches the surface. It is just a small sampling of the atrocities committed by Texas politicians who have some very strange ideas about what it means to serve in a position of power and authority, about religious freedom and about human rights.

From time to time I will be posting new stories out of Texas. After all, there is so much more, from their quest to dumb down public education by banning critical thinking because it undermines parental authority, to the lust for state sanctioned ritualistic murder. I invite everyone-particularly anyone who is out there from the great state of Texas to post your stories. Even positive ones will be welcome, if you can find any. Cheers

The hospital my sister's in has them too. They have one toilet and one sink, kind of like my bathroom at home.

Fuck that, tell them to get over it.

They have all other equality under the law, this is a fair exception because it affects children.

Tell the TG to go after the pedophiles which is the reason for this law.

Just look at all of these sick fucks who will do anything to get to young girls, and you don't think they are going to take advantage of this?

And what about the boys being molested by men in the men's room? Wouldn't it be worth retrofitting the restrooms so that no longer happens?
