People were already leaving the GOP in droves.

Trump had a hard core support of 35%. That has dwindled to 27% and those that will not admit they made a mistake.

Good article. However, the dems have ruined education. They have indoctrinated our kids into liberalism. They do not allow for school choice. They just keep pouring money into our schools thinking that will solve the problem. The Republicans are becoming more and more like democrats, however. Especially with the HC bill. Basically, people go to the democrat party because they 'think' they are helping people. With generations on welfare, something is wrong with this picture.

Wow. You sound like you're repeating talking points from the 1990s. If the Democrats have indoctrinated all the kids into liberalism (whatever that means), they weren't very successful. School choice is just a way for private schools to get public money. As far as money spent on education, most of that cost is on state and local governments. Too many districts depend on property taxes which means poor neighborhood aren't funded well.

Republicans have gone so far to the right that your statement that they've become more and more like Democrats is absurd.

Their version of the health care bill is nothing more than a fig leaf for tax cuts for the wealthy.

If a family is continually on welfare, then that's because they aren't able to find jobs that support their families. There are work requirements attached to welfare benefits. People can't just lay around and do nothing and collect welfare. There are areas of the country where there simply aren't decent jobs available. What? Should those people just starve?

You're just repeating right wing talk radio BS. Your understanding of issues is as deep as a mud puddle.

All one has to do is look at the election results over the last 6 years to realize the American people are abandoning the extremist Democratic Party in droves.
Over all, more people vote democrat than republican, it just doesn't result in more wins - kinda like Hillary got more votes, but trump is president, or how Obama had the constitutional duty to nominate a Supreme Court justice, but republicans took his nomination from him by refusing to give his nominee a hearing upsetting more than 200 years of precedent.

The facts don't make republicans winners, the facts make republicans cheaters and thieves.

The majority of Americans believe in helping the disabled, our vets, the working poor.
    That's liberal.
The majority of Americans believe that health care is a right, not a privilege.
    That's liberal.
The majority of Americans reject bigotry/racism.
    That's liberal.
    Want more?

The only ones making the republican party a bunch of bigoted racists are all those in the republican party.

They can do it when the Trump supporters get so discouraged that they stop voting.
It could happen sooner than we think.
When Speaker Boehner left, he said Republicans lied too much to the base, promising the
impossible. That crap would have to stop, too.

Boy, if democrats have been abandoning the democratic party in droves over the last 6 years and the repubs lost the popular vote just 7 months ago it sounds like you are in real trouble.
