Secret Service: Donald Trump Jr. didn't have agency's protection at time of meeting.

Washington (CNN)The Secret Service is pushing back on President Donald Trump's attorney's remarks Sunday that there was nothing questionable going on at a meeting last summer between Trump's eldest son, Donald Trump Jr., a Russian lawyer and top members of Trump's campaign.

"Well, I wonder why the Secret Service, if this was nefarious, why the Secret Service allowed these people in," Jay Sekulow said on ABC's "This Week." "The President had Secret Service protection at that point, and that raised a question with me."

After Sekulow's comments aired, the Secret Service responded that it wouldn't have checked out the participants of the meeting because Trump's eldest son wasn't in their charge.

anyone, please. Have you ever heard of the Secret Service pushing back on claims made by the administration about the service they provide? This is an organization that is unparalleled in it's professionalism. Yet, they were forced to defend themselves from false allegations made by Trump's lawyer. Not to mention the fact that this lawyer just exposed himself as someone that's willing to tell bald-faced lies for all the world to hear. It's sad. Just, so very sad that Trump can't find a competent lawyer to defend him.

Any other similar agency in the world would be greatly embarrassed by such publicity

If that is the kind of agents employed in the US SS, Bush, Obama, and Trump are lucky indeed to be alive...

well, obviously it doesn't have anything to do with luck. Because , despite their minor scandals, there hasn't been an assassination of an American president since Kennedy.

It's okay for Americans to criticize the USSS, but we get a little testy when others follow suit. The bottom line is that it's a lie to say the USSS could have stopped June Yoor, because he was not under USSS protection at the time of the meeting.

Well, Reagan did get shot, it was thanks, more, to doctors, not his bodyguards, that he survived back then...

You want professionalism? Try keeping someone like Putin safe lol

At least five known assassination attempts on him: Vladimir Putin reveals how many times someone has tried to kill him | World | News | Express.co.uk

    Probably more though.

Guy has all kinds of deadly enemies, inside Russia and outside. Pissed off oligarchs he'd forced into exile abroad, like Khodorkovsky, people with plenty of financial and other resources, still, to put together a decent and professional hit on him; Chechen separatists and Islamists and other terrorists, more so now, that Russia is involved in Syria; Slavic far right extremists, plenty of whom are pissed about the conflict of Ukraine and also the recent crackdowns and jailing of their leaders; etc.

The Russian FSO over there face potential threats, every day, the US SS could not imagine in their fucking nightmares...

And yet, they do their job, effectively, and damn near invisibly, without generating headlines like above (to be fair, that is easier without a free media, I know lol But, still, if they had such screw ups, it would get leaked, there are bloggers and such)

Exactly as a SECRET agency is supposed to work

Your SS is far from the best in the world. Sorry.

Of course, FSO work is also much greater rewarded. Dude on the right in the above pic, for example, is now a regional governor, in Kaliningrad

Being Putin's bodyguard can open all sorts of exciting possibilities in life lol
