Omarosa Manigault reportedly Causes Uproar at Black Journalists Convention.

NEW ORLEANS — Omarosa Manigault, an assistant to President Donald Trump, caused a bit of an uproar at the National Association of Black Journalists’ convention on Friday. Though she criticized her boss for seeming to encourage police brutality, she defended the administration in a series of heated exchanges over its relationship with communities of color around the country.

The standing-room-only event at one of the convention's panel discussions turned contentious after she began by recounting of how her father and brother were both lost to street violence in Youngstown, Ohio.

I'll be reserving judgment until I can get a full accounting. Early reporting is that there was nearly an hour of disruptive commentary ,on stage live at this event, between Ms. Manigualt , the audience and a moderator of the event. I've broken my self imposed rule with the title of this thread. Inserting the word "reportedly" in the title of the sourced article.

A] why invite her knowing she was going to be a lighting rod.

B] Why did she accept to speak...then not want to speak about Trump?

It was a cluster-fuck from the get go.

I don't think so. These folks in the administration should be invited to events. They should be included on panels. And if they provoke confrontations rather than answer basic questions about the president, that should be reported as a manner of demonstrating how indefensible he is.

Do you think another source for the same pat answers is more productive? What does Omamrosa know of Donald Trump.

If she was invited because she is the black voice of Donald Trump...that is even more disturbing.

She was invited to demonstrate that she is not there as a representative of black Americans to the president, she's there because she is and has always been dedicated in her career to doing whatever Donald Trump says, however he wants it.

Confronted with that fact she became uncomfortable and angry, and even let slip that she's not happy with some of the president's statements and that she feels she has to remain a stool pigeon to stay at the table. This makes inviting her, airing these objective truths and letting her get pissed as they become known, a successful decision.

To emphasize, in tackling this craven, ridiculous and reckless administration, exclusion and censorship are the last things we want to do. People who hear their garbage and become persuaded by it are a lost cause. They can't be protected. What these guys have to say needs to be brought out into the open, confronted and refuted.

yes, why would she think she would get a fair shake at this convention?

She got a perfectly fair shake. She was allowed to say what she wanted to say. When you refuse to answer basic questions, after agreeing to come onto the panel for a productive discussion, you deserve nonviolent confrontation and ridicule, and that's what she got. "I'm not going to talk about the president." Please...

were the questions being asked of her actually reasonable or were they only meant to be inflammatory?
