I think that was long island in the bahamas. I was confused by the name also.

It's hard for me to stay on top of every news broadcast. I can only imagine what it's like for you.

As of the time of this posting Fort Myers is now being pummeled quite heavily by the monster storm!!

Unfortunately, the two Earthcams at Fort Myers are now currently unavailable. No doubt the storm has hit them hard. They may be back up later.

@syrenn, the hemingway house and the cats are safe, 3 foot storm surge, that's nothing....

It's okay, I've been thru quite a few, besides, it was good to see my cherub, she's a lot calmer with me here, I am re-washing all her laundry, she hates that! LOL!

Hell, I grew up in a dry cleaners, I have a real issue with people who mix dark towels with whites!

Well, we'll see in a few days, it would be wonderful, but I can always rebuild, if the surge was three feet, even the roosters are safe, Key West is very protective of the roosters, I love watching people admonish the tourists on scooters when they rev up when the rooster cross the roads, they are family. I just wish they would crow early in the day instead of four o'clock in the afternoon, BUT then again, they are Key West roosters, I think they know, that's when the tourists wake up!!! LOL!
    Thanks from syrenn

It was on the NBC news tonight, the Hemmingway Home made it through fine. They interviewed the curator, he sounded like he was in great spirits, people were walking their dogs on Duvall Street and the storm surge was quite minimal.
    Thanks from PACE and syrenn

The islands on the dirty side, it is feared didn't do as well. The article I was reading stated mortuary teams will be arriving in Florida soon. Not sure where the deaths are.
