You're right! Just heard that he had been let go but so was the cashier, unfortunately. He should have been retained for reporting this problem in the first place.

There's a great comedy sketch in this...

Dairy Queen Employee: "Would Sir like nuts on his soft serve?"

Or maybe it will get me thread banned....

...Bugger it, run it up the flagpole and see if the cat licks it.

I don't have a source other than sexual orientation is not a protected class. Sexual discrimination is not a violation of federal law.

States that have anti-sexual discrimination laws such as Washington state are the states that have fined businesses for non compliance of state accommodation laws.

The EEOC has successfully settled sexual orientation cases in the work place arguing that "sex" ...as in the protected class of sex is also including sexual orientation...as say Lesbians are singled out discrimination are done so where as a man is not for the same action.

Example. A woman was fired for displaying a photo of her girlfriend on her desk while her male co-worker was not.

Facts about Discrimination in Federal Government Employment Based on Marital Status, Political Affiliation, Status as a Parent, Sexual Orientation, and Gender Identity

The EEOC enforces the prohibitions against employment discrimination in Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, the Equal Pay Act of 1963, the Age Discrimination in Employment Act of 1967, Sections 501 and 505 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, Titles I and V of the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 (ADA), Title II of the Genetic Information Non-discrimination Act (GINA), and the Civil Rights Act of 1991. These laws prohibit discrimination based on race, color, sex, religion, national origin, age, disability, and genetic information, as well as reprisal for protected activity. The Commission's interpretations of these statutes apply to its adjudication and enforcement in federal sector as well as private sector and state and local government employment.

Maybe where you worked in Az.

Plugerville Tx is a small town. DairyQueen makes everything to order...no premade burgers ready to go.

Its going to be a wait...and everyone knows that. The claim was that people that ordered AFTER the couple did...got their food before the couple did.

The cashier told the manager the couple was still waiting on their food.

The couple posted their receipt to show they did not order anything out of the usual...burger, fries and drink.

Why the delay? What godly reason would two gay guy's take so long in a tiny Texas town? Gee I wonder.

It is not impossible for a manager or line staff to see who is ordering at DQ. They have a fairly open area from kitchen to counter.

Former rock star / now comedian Henry Rollins once reminisced about working at a Dairy Queen (or something very similar) in his youth. As a joke, he and his friends found rat poison (which looked like candy-ish pink pellets), filled a toppings bin, labeled it "Rat Poison," and set it out with the other toppings.

A customer actually asked for "the pink things" as a topping, and Rollins said "Sir, that's rat poison." The customer thought he was kidding, and repeated the request. "No sir, that's really rat poison. See? Here's the box." The customer demanded to know why they had a toppings bin filled with rat poison. Henry's friend replied "It's just an option, sir."

Given Rollins age, this must have been back in the 1970s... no way could they get away with that stuff today. And if you've never seen Henry Rollins do stand-up comedy, look it up on YouTube.
