It will be a massive clean up. Hope insurance makes good on replacing the losses. Many missing and unaccounted for.

The main fire we are dealing with is the Tubbs Fire. Back in 1964, there was another Tubbs Fire (named for where it started). A childhood friend reminded me on facebook how in 1964 my mom and her "church lady" friends made hundreds and hundreds of sandwiches in our kitchen for the firefighters which we then drove up in the old station wagon. Id forgetton all about that....he was 3, I was 4.

Looks like a nuclear war without the radiation.

My biggest concern is my (ex) mother and father in law who are at this point ... missing...(they live in an evacuated zone) we now have 10 dead and it hasnt been 24 hours yet, and they expext that to rise. Its mother fucking Armageddon out here right now. I couldnt work today, and most likely cant work tomorrow. Devastated neighborhoods....landmarks Ive know all my life,,,,burned to the fucking ground.....

I dont think Ill sleep tonight when the winds kick up again.
So sorry to hear this, Michelle. Please stay safe.

The fire is not being fought properly because the wineries do not want fire retardant on their unpicked vineyards. A winery on 2nd Ave was picking the whole time the area surrounding it was evacuated. Luckily the fire kept more to the ridge in that area.

Evacuation orders are now lifted in that area but no power there yet.

That was probably the one that started at Hobergs, went south between Cobb and Mt St Helena and split down both ridges at Calistoga. Napa tries to downplay that one especially since most of the witnesses are now dead. Not good for tourism.

Containment is still 5 to 10 % very dry , windy no rain in forecast. A lot of destruction is still on the way.

Naah..... those very dry windy winds will be from the NE and send the fires on a rendezvous with SF bay waters. Plus rain is forecast next week. Some oil refineries my be taken out in the meantime though.
