The War on Coal is Over.

    So much winning for America!

    https://www.yahoo.com/finance/news/e...173500736.html

The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Administrator, Scott Pruitt, announced today he would sign a proposed rule that would withdraw the Obama administration's Clean Power Plan (CPP). "Here's the president's message: The war on coal is over," Pruitt said today during a speech given in Hazard, Kentucky.

The CPP was initially proposed by the EPA in 2014 and President Obama revealed a final version of the plan in 2015. But the the CPP, which stipulated that power companies had until 2030 to reduce their carbon emissions by 32 percent relative to 2005 levels, never really got a chance to have an impact. Soon after it was introduced, a number of states challenged the legality of the plan and 29 went so far as to petition the Supreme Court to halt its implementation until a court could review it. In a five to four vote, the Supreme Court justices granted that stay.

    CO2 isn't real pollution.

This will just mean more money for the coal companies, more misery for the coal miner and more pollution for the rest of the country. Thank's Trump!

Some folks have strange hobbies, I guess. There's probably a contingent of people out there who pine for the days of horses and buggies and want to outlaw automobiles.

I saw an interesting article on how they plan to use the CO2 from Coal Electric plants, captured and replocessed by solar driven catalytic plants, combined with algae generated hydrocarbons...

To create new, Carbon-Neutral, Synthetic Gasoline!

Essentially, they take the bottled CO2, and bubble it though helical glass tubes, half under and half above (for cooling) the desert plain, filled with cultures of Algae.

The enriched CO2 allows extremely rapid Algae growth, with amounts to a much more efficent, broad spectrum of light, solar energy capture!

The photovoltaic effect, used in silicon solar cells, requires that the photons bumping the electron across the diode PN junction voltage band-gap, be blue light and above, where Algae energy capture covers almost all of the visable light spectrum. (Its a semiconductor physics Thang!)

Nobody builds better solar collectors than Mother Nature.

Thank goodness we rolled back regulation on an energy source that is not economically viable for private industry to use, nor do they even want it.
