Trump's job has just begun, no matter what you think about his performance. We're looking at a 20-year recovery process. It will be Trump's job to manage this for the rest of his presidency, and to pass the torch in a constructive, well-planned manner. His new DHS nominee is going to be expected to have a plan for all of that.

In many cases they can't. They don't have the roads or the personnel to do it while 1000's are thirsty. They turn to drinking fouled water, cases of lepto I have read are now about 155 and will only climb.

Saying this is on PR is going to lead to the worst disaster this country has ever seen, they can't help themselves.

No state can independently manage, or have the senior responsibility in managing, a crisis where most of the power grid is knocked out for the long term and access to safe drinking water is a luxury across its entire territory. On top of that, Puerto Rico's geography puts it away from the neighborly assistance virtually every other U.S. polity would be able to expect.

If you find yourself asking "Can't PR handle...?" You're doing it wrong.

How the hell did they last this long?

I have never seen such a back assward nation in my life.
This is why you are king of the deplorables.

That is their job is to do paperwork especially in regards to funding and getting it to people quickly. FEMA organizes local and state emergency units, they don't send their own, they don't have any.

And what business is it of yours how often I post?

Go study what FEMA does and come back and apologize.

Dragonfly and sweetee, or those in Florida, who have survived hurricanes. Is FEMA nothing more than pencil pushers during a disaster? That is what Long claims.

I am sure they organize, but aren't they there to help, trying to make sure needed supplies are being distributed?

I know the National Guard and other groups are there to help, including utilities from other areas. Our utility workers were in Texas when straight line winds hit here, but they were doing what needed to be done. Not all of our workers were gone, just crews.

I can not imagine, quit that long ago. After the pretend blind man,and the bus. It is against the law even to park in a handicap spot.

I went to a funeral few months ago. They directed me to a handicap spot. I told them I was not handicapped..

Exactly, that's the job of the DHS, not Trump.

If the new guy sucks then its Trumps job to replace him. We don't want presidents micro-managing everything.

This is why they have experts.
