    Why is that impossible?

How do all PhD people think?

You believe they are all the same huh?

    That's fucking laughable.

Yes, taking a leave so I can care for my sick father is so funny.

    You're disgusting.

It goes hand-in-hand. DHS is to keep the president continually involved when the disaster is of this scale.

This is the worst natural thing to happen on U.S. soil since Galveston. Bar none.

Of course, but he doesn't oversee the day-to-day operations.

He does have other parts of his job to do, just like any president.

Based on his tweets this morning, he is clearly chafing at this part of his job.

He did everything he was supposed to.

He even released FEMA there before the storm even hit so they were ready to go once it passed.

That all entails basically not standing in the way while the experts do their job, which is the minimal standard.

On the question of aid delivery, he neglected to echo the response to Haiti, and he neglected to lift the Jones Act for a serious length of time, citing shipping industry concerns.

His personal conduct this morning is unacceptable. Now is not the time to talk about how long the government will aid PR. An indefinite commitment is required.
    Thanks from MaryAnne

Trump just let the lifting of Jones act expire. It was only good for 10 days. Guess he forgot between screaming rages and obnoxious tweets.

Nobody knew how completely the government of PR had let their infrastructure collapse.

They were in no way prepared to deal with as other nations have been.

Hell Haiti was more prepared than they were.

That makes our job extremely difficult.

And lifting the shipping earlier would have made no difference, they still can't get the stuff off the docks.

As for his personal conduct well that's certainly a viable complaint but not how he handled the actual response.
