Official says Vegas hotel didn't immediately report gunfire

Mandalay Bay hotel officials didn't notify police about a shooting in a hallway inside the high-rise until after Stephen Paddock opened fire on the crowd at a country music festival outside, a federal official told The Associated Press on Thursday.
The disclosure means there may have been a delay of some six minutes in summoning police to the scene of what became the deadliest mass shooting in modern U.S. history.
The official was briefed by law enforcement but wasn't authorized to discuss the matter publicly and spoke on condition of anonymity.

if true it would appear that the plaintiff lawsuit against Mandalay Bay based on negligence is more likely to prevail.

I heard the timeline and yes there was some confusion but it all seemed quite explainable. BUT MAKE NO MISTAKE, MANDALAY is ripe for potential lawsuits.

Apparently SECURITY ignoring a room with a 'privacy tag' hung on it for 3 days, hoteliers in Vegas said should have sent up FLARES. NO WAY that would have been allowed on their properties without knocking on doors and 'checking' shit. No doubt Vegas is ripe for HUMAN TRAFFICKING. Women, GIRLS? Somebody better be on the look out.

(When that happened I kept thinking why do I know the name of that property. I haven't been to Vegas since the late 70's. And I didn't know it to be one of the old famous ones. Turns out we have a major tradeshow there every JAN. Our 'prime' hotel is the Mandalay. I've never gone to that show. I was emailed our first email notices for the event the day after the shooting. It 'weirded' me out a bit).

    That's not all that odd.

I always hang that tag whenever I stay in hotels, I don't want anyone coming in.

Ya, the taxi driver that made a video in real time kept asking where was LE.. everyone was pretty much acting like business as usual around the entrance of the building.
