Exclamation Trump Targets Elderly and Sick with Cruel Executive Order Intended to Destroy Obamaca

Trump Targets Elderly and Sick with Cruel Executive Order Intended to Destroy Obamacare Market with Junk Insurance: WATCH - Towleroad
    by Andy Towle

"Trump will sign an executive order on Thursday directing an overhaul of major federal regulations that would encourage the rise of a raft of cheap, loosely regulated health insurance plans that don’t have to comply with certain Obamacare consumer protections and benefit rules. They’d attract younger and healthier people — leaving older and sicker ones in the Obamacare markets facing higher and higher costs."
"It’s not yet clear how far the administration will go, or how quickly it can implement the president’s order. But if successful, the new rules could upend the way businesses and individuals buy coverage — lowering premiums for the healthiest Americans at the expense of key consumer protections and potentially tipping the Obamacare markets into a tailspin."
“It would have a very negative impact on the markets,” said Mike Kreidler, the insurance commissioner in Washington State. “Our state is a poster child of what can go wrong. Association health plans often shun the bad risks and stay with the good risks.”

    =================================

This report is now making for Explosive News! That is yet another sure sign that Trump is totally disinterested in actually helping the American people. This shameful exercise of his is an attempt to drive up costs for the elderly, the disabled and the sick.

Trump's EO is no healthcare plan panacea. It will be an utter nightmare to MILLIONS!

This is indeed JUNK insurance. Wait until people start buying this and GET SICK. This sounds like the equivalent of the old 'time insurance'. The insurance you bought inbetween jobs, couldn't afford 'real' insurance, self employed, couldn't afford COBRA. Most had 5-10k deductible even back in the 'olden days'. (I had it at the beginning of my self employed days). It kicked in for getting really sick but you were LIKELY stuck with a hefty remaining bill at the end and you were on your own to 'negotiate' with hospitals and providers.

Sounds great! We just turned back 3 decades.

Hey ladies, don't get ACCIDENTALLY pregnant on one of these policies. (And ironically it won't cover birth control)

The average total price charged for pregnancy and newborn care was about $30,000 for a vaginal delivery and $50,000 for a C-section, with commercial insurers paying out an average of $18,329 and $27,866, the report found.

It was also reported today on major news that Trump's EO Would Not Cover Prescription Drugs, Ambulance Services and Paternity care. How's that for feeling the Trump Love, people?

Not for anything, but what alternative is there?

Elderly and sick people with few exceptions not are incapable of paying for their own care.

You are going to have to cut one of your other pet projects then like food stamps.

You can't give everyone everything unfortunately.

With a Republican president and a Republican Congress you need who to cut 'pet' projects?

It is like Republicans are stuck in victim mode.

This EO is yet another Trump fantasy legislation. His EOs are wishes of what he would like to do...like all his legislation.

The courts will set him back to earth reality.
