I have been watching that since it started. Fascinating stuff. The way their financial system works is truly genius. I guess they're sitting on over a billion dollars. Tax free!

churches are religious in nature like Methodists. Cults are things like the dumbshits worshiping Trump when even they know he is an asshole.

    It's a cult - not a "religion"
Many Religions are cult like. I get more discouraged every day. But trump and his primises are like toilet paper. Flimsy.

The only difference between newer religions such as Scientology or Mormonism and older religions such as Christianity or Judaism is how long they've been around. None of them were constructed upon a rational basis. If we're going to offer tax exempt status to religious organizations, then we can't discriminate.

The simple solution is to end tax exempt status for all religious organizations.

Never have understood that.
I don't mind the government having a defined process. I don't like that Trump unilaterally deciding what a religion is... is fucking bogus.

Fuck that dude telling others what a religion is.

Another solution, require that they earn their exemptions by opening their financial records to a non-bias auditing firm. Check every expenditure to make sure that every dime is spent where it should be...the greater good and maintaining the church. Private jets should not be part of the equation for church leadership. Charity work is a must if you want tax exemption. I know very little about this religion but they are in other places besides California. There is a very small store front Scientology church next door to my yoga studio. I take a class twice a week and there is always a handful, about 5 in their space each time.

Charitable contributions and building maintenance already enjoy tax exemptions for private businesses. That should be good enough for Churches as well.

They have their headquarters in Florida and a lot of other places scattered across the country. They buy up a lot of real estate even though their numbers are way down. They got rich because of the tax deduction.

They have a big compound near me which where they send all their "bad" people. It's heavily fortified with 24 hour security and high barbed wired fences. According the A& E series, that's where the beat people and make them do manual labor (like cleaning rust with a toothbrush) I want to drive out there sometime just to take at look at it and see if they try to run me off
