Mnuchin and his idiot wife...what a beautiful symbol of who is running things right now. And honest, decent, real people have no recourse because our laws are written to protect corporations from us. People are supposed to be writing these laws, not corporations. I don't think it's the least bit surprising that the reality of Corporations As People is reflected in our law-making processes, our economics, everything. If I am a Person, and so is WalMart...I think we know who is going to win that tug of war. I think we know who is going to end up writing the tax code.
I hear ya. What an abomination to equate corporations with individual rights. Now we've got Gorsuch and the Gambit is complete. Maybe we should cut out the middleman and send our earnings directly to Exxon etc. What a political party those Republicans are.

They've said it publicly, we're coming after entitlements. Maybe that's what it will take to get elderly to wake up and smell the coffee.

You are correct, and america elected them to do just what they said they were going to do.

Face it, you welfare supporters are the minority.

I am at the point in life where I am actually hoping the GOP fulfills their policy agendas and we suffer for a couple decades. My daughters will suffer but they will learn a valuable lesson, one our generation learned from our parents and the draft. Politics matter, your vote matters, keeping up with the news on a daily basis matters, being aware of issues matters. The pain the GOP will cause will hit everyone hard, I just hope it destroys their base like a tornado slamming a trailer park. I want it to be catastrophic, a disaster. Only then can we rebuild on the detritus of a buried ideology.

I have often said a lot of humans have a self destruct gene in their DNA. They vote against best interests, follow morally bankrupt people and lack compassion or empathy. As I get older I really believe that Americans are spoiled, we worry more about who we follow on Twitter than bothering to vote. Its a shame but I do agree the only way we learn is to suffer. Otherwise we get all wrapped up in nonsense. I suppose there is historical precedence for it, times of great advancement and achievement have come after dark days.
