Probably, this would still be the case *after* tax reform, though that is the big question, how much does the GOP cover for Trump once he's signed their top policy priorities into law?
I think this kid is in DEEP DEEP SHIT. Alone and along WITH other Trump'rs.

Good thing it was not Talk Like a Pirate Day, or Junior would have claimed parley, as that is about as relevant as what he did claim.

what do the Republican's need Trump for tax reform for? Any Republican can sign their name. It's not like if they remove Trump then they're stuck. Pence would sign their horrid tax reform bill. And if he gets caught up it's Ryan's baby. So of course he'd sign it. If they keep fooling around Pelosi is going to end up being president.

You can't make this shit up. It's all coming together.

Trump Jr's. attempt to suck up to daddy won't work. He had no choice other than to tell the truth. Trump's don't tell the truth. This at least stalls the answers till they can come up with a convincing lie. I don't think Trump Jr. would do well in prison, what do you think?

it's what you get when rich kids try to be gangsters. All Jr. Daycare did was point enthusiastically at a rock and say to Mueller "what ever you do don't look under that one".

I think if Trump decides in the near future that he has nothing to lose and fires Mueller, it will put Republicans in a really difficult position and force them to make a decision months ahead of schedule. Whereas they will more comfortably abandon him six months from now, or especially after the midterms have come and gone and they have taken all the immediate damage they have to worry about.

Should Mueller either attempt to charge a Trump Inner Circle member and be blocked from doing so illegitimately, or should he simply come to the conclusion that he will not be permitted to try and ask Congress to intervene, I think you could see a bipartisan impeachment process in say, December 2018.

The question then becomes, how many Republican Senators, many of whom will be very wary of 2020 primary challengers, are willing to play ball?

Alternatively, you could see Trump just kinda give up, throw the Inner Circle to the wolves, and/or resign if he becomes personally implicated in crimes. There is some signs he's getting tired, and would rather just watch TV and tweet than govern.
I think at some point he might just FREAK OUT and fire Mueller, do it in a middle of the night in some non-specific twittergasm and the next morning let the legislative and judicial branches decide what the hell just happened and then attempt to clean it up.
