And he'd probably suffer a coronary if a Middle Easterner came in to visit him and tried to hold his hand and KISS him as men do with no problem all of the time.

If men touching other men is not going to continue to be the acceptable standard in this country then I submit to you we need to do away with FOOTBALL Right. Away. Because there, men touch men not just merely on the arm or elbow but below the belt at all times and in other places as well.

Football Will Now Become The New Anti-Republican Sport!

So will we now see men accusing other men of "touching them inappropriately" to get them out of office? Seems to be working for some.

This might just be a way of cynically pushing back against the Weinstein Effect. Ridiculing the entire notion of sexual harassment by taking it beyond the realm of the reasonable, deliberately, in order to jam up the airwaves with more bullshit, to create examples of obviously fraudulent harassment noise.

People are already wondering if maybe it's gone too far, how we can protect innocent men as well as women, questioning whether the climate is being exploited by gold diggers and fame-seekers, etc. Fill the Zeitgeist up with a bunch of bullshit like this and you help cut the knees out from under the legitimate issue even more.
    Thanks from bajisima and MaryAnne

Oh how ultra sensitive! Time was when a man could gently touch another one on the arm or elbow or back to gain their attention and the person would simply turn and acknowledge that they were being called. However, imho, if inappropriate touching was the intent it would not have been done on the arm as the Representative did nor in an open meeting with many people and cameras rolling that much is for certain. But this overreaction by Republicans is truly laughable. It goes beyond the pale. Suddenly, a mere slight touch on the arm or elbow to gain their attention becomes an intolerable act.

Will we be hearing from Metcalfe at #METOO ?

    Thx

Well don't say it so tongue in cheek it may well happen. But it will of course come from Republicans who are such 'fraidy cats at being touched by other men. Pretty soon the traditional picture-taking pose of men posing with another man and putting their arms around each other's shoulders or waist will need to stop, now won't it! After all, why risk offending your buddy even if that is the last thing he would ever think you are doing.

Like I said, that would have been an acceptable way to deal with it but he mentioned the "gay" thing which puts his response into the proper perspective, the guy is a closet queen or a homophobe.
