Seattle to get NHL team in 2020.

    https://www.google.ca/amp/www.sports...eattle/sn-amp/

You heard it here first. A city that already has quite a devoted NFL, NBA, MLB, and MLS team is now going to add an NHL team.

I love the idea for Seattle, and a great natural rival for Vancouver. Iíll probably be able to go to Seattle to see the Canucks for cheaper than going here (itís already cheaper to see them in Vegas or Anaheim, including flight and hotel).

The only thing I donít like is that thereís already so many options in Seattle. How many people can they reasonably get to hockey games? And meanwhile, Quebec City has the people, the money, the stadium, the passion and NO competing league for fans attention.

But Bettman wonít hear of it.
    Thanks from The Man

There's a lot of support for Hockey here. I think we'll do fine. I'll go to a few games.

Thanks for posting. We're remodeling our old Key Arena. Hopefully it will bring us a Basketball team too. SuperSonics Baby! I still won't watch an NBA game since David Stern screwed us over.

    Wow.

I actually had no idea the Sonics were not still in Seattle. As I showed in my post haha.

    Oklahoma City Thunder?

I have never heard those words.

Have I been in a coma?

Didn't Vancouver used to have an NBA team? Like back in the 90s? I still have a "Vancouver Grizzlies" baseball cap I inherited as a hand-me-down from dear nephew, who grew up there then lol

I'm all for Seattle getting an NHL team. Though I'm a little disappointed that nothing is coming to town for sports fans to enjoy.

    Yes, they moved in 2008.

The OKC Thunder were pretty good for a few years, but let two of their three stars go.

They even got to the Finals one year.

They moved to Memphis long, long ago.

Kevin Durant was the Sonics last first round draft pick. Too bad they moved the next year.

Yep, I know the Sonic fans were not happy to see "their" team get so good so soon after they left.

I saw them WAAAAY back in the day in the old King Dome.

They won it all that year, 78 or 79 maybe.
