A poster on this forum, in this thread said that he/she was unable to work a normal part-time job due to the number of hours required to be away from someone for which they must provide care. I suggested a newspaper route, as a potential way to earn money without being locked into the rigid hours of a job with a schedule. You, wanting to be a troll, decided that since I'm a conservative and was the one that suggested it, you would post idiotic messages about newspaper routes and bicycle carriers. You posted the statement that it takes longer to deliver the routes and all that fun.

Newspaper routes are now delivered by vehicle. The routes still take between one and four hours to deliver, depending on how many routes you have. Keep in mind that they routes really can't take longer than that to deliver because of the time that the papers reach the warehouse and the delivery deadline. Delivery of newspaper is usually a contractor position which gives additional freedom when a carrier needs to take additional days off, they can send someone to deliver the route for them. The newspaper doesn't care as long as the route gets delivered. Many people deliver newspapers because they need that ability to only work a few hours each night.
I'm sure he's grateful for the suggestion.

Back to the subject, which wasn't originally getting a paper route to supplement a job with lousy wages. Good on WalMart for giving their employees a small raise. They are spending 0.06% of their revenue on said raise. I think they can afford it, don't you?

Walmart gave wage increases voluntarily not required to do it by a law being passed. Your response just shows that they shouldn't bother. Because people like you are not going to be satisfied.

Democrats are pissed Trump was Right again. He said if you cut regulations and lower the cost on businesses they would hire and give raises.

My friends Dad delivered papers for years after he retired to supplement his social security. I am not sure how much he earned but his route was huge. It took him 3-4 hours to deliver papers on his route.

I didn't read back a long way to see if this had already been posted, but don't pat WalMart on the back all that hard. The black hearted bastards just cut 3500 manager jobs and is replacing some with assistant manager positions, which of course pay less. The laid off managers were told they could apply for the assistant manager posts because WalMart is such a caring company and stuff.

The Trumpanzees are mute all of a sudden.

"Retail is changing rapidly and we are transforming to meet the needs of our customers," the company said. "We have a growing emphasis on serving customers seamlessly however they want to shop: in stores, online, on their mobile device - through pickup or delivery. To help compete and win in this environment, we must make changes across our company to enable further investments in our strategic business priorities and growth."
Are you saying that a company should not adapt to a changing market to stay competitive?

Sure, but then don't kiss political butt by pretending this tax giveaway to the rich is making it better for the workers.

I don't think those 3500 managers and all those Sam's Club employees are feeling all that much better.

But congrats, you are the first to try and spin these facts away.

"Adapt" means better go online as brick and mortar is the way of the past.
