We beat this subject like a stolen drum several months ago, on a thread called "The Tax Impact Of Undocumented People".

If it's from the Heritage Foundation (a very conservative think tank) then yeah, it probably is wrong.

Yes, it is. The statistics are not gathered and presented in an unbiased fashion.

Which is a damned shame. Citizens do need the information, but bad information is worse than none at all.

The facts are finite. Illegal immigration costs the US more than what they earn or pay in taxes.

It's hard because when you google info for this topic - the most biased sites pop up first.

You have to dig a little deeper.

I live in CA and that's the best guess I have.
There is no direct cost to being a sanctuary state, as Trump's threats to withhold federal dollars was just unmitigated bullshit. He doesn't have that type of control.

Here is a snapshot of CA, and of course TNV is just flat out wrong

As California Senate President Pro Tem Kevin de León and other Democratic lawmakers gain national attention for the effort to make California the first state to declare it self a “sanctuary” for undocumented immigrants, a new report assesses the economic contributions of immigrants every year.

The 2.7 million undocumented immigrants who call California home contribute about $3 billion in taxes to the state’s economy each year, according to the Institute of Taxation and Economic Policy, a nonprofit tax research organization.

Of that, nearly $30 million in property and sales tax revenue goes to Sacramento County

While the state pays them 25,000,000,000 in Welfare benefits.

so CA proposition with Illegal Immigrants is a 22,000,000,000 billion dollar hole full of red ink.

So next time you ask why are their so many wildfires, Then you can say The State Chose Illegal Immigrants over the cost of infrastructure and Clearing of Brush...

how many died because of the wildfires that could have been prevented if CA only had the monies to do a little resources management.
