Trump and his FCC lackey, Ajit Pai, just blundered into a very big net neutrality fight
    By Joan McCarter

"The fight to preserve net neutrality is far from over. The FCC voted last month to end it, but still has to submit its new rule to the Office of Management and Budget and print it in the Federal Register. As soon as that happens, the clock starts ticking on the vote Senate Democrats are forcing to overturn it. Democrats have recruited a Republican, Sen. Susan Collins (ME) to their side on this, and there is already tremendous constituent pressure on all senators to keep the internet open. That might mean the FCC holds off on the final rule-making, trying to push this inevitable vote back."

The Net Neutrality issue is not going to go away because it's just too important to ignore. Time to call your Congressmen and let them know that you want to retain Net Neutrality and that they work for you therefore, they need to listen to you as your vote counts during elections.

Too bad, after 5 threads on this issue, nobody here understands net neutrality sufficient to discuss.

True that, although at least here we would finally have Congress making a call instead of an Executive Branch administrative agency.

It's not the communications you want treated equally, it's the trade that needs to be equal.

Twitter should not be allowed to ban users because the executives disagree with them politically. Just like a baker is not allowed to refuse to bake a gay cake even if they object on religious grounds.

Oh, and standard response "make your own", well, someone did, called "gab.ai", what was Google response to one of their arms seeing competition? They banned gab from the App Store...

So, the ISP companies are the least worry about ruining the free and open internet.
