Alabama legislature voting to end special elections

Sore Losers Act of 2018. The whole affair cost the state $11 million. Nobody takes claims of seeking fiscal responsibility seriously.

Under this legislation, any Senate vacancy will be filled until the next general election --- so if a senator dies or resigns in December 2018, his appointed successor will serve until at least January 2020 REGARDLESS of who it is, what party they're from, what they advocate ... democracy will just be considered unimportant.

The GOP is going full retard.

No. At no point did I say that Alabama does not have the right to govern how it schedules its elections. That is their decision --- it's just undemocratic and retarded. Thanks for playing

Why not? They already have it rigged that blacks are not equally represented in their state. One of the most politically corrupt states in the union. Home of our Attorney General btw that went after peaceful civil rights leaders.

Special elections are expensive. The state has the right to make this change. Just as Massachusetts had the right to change from governor appointment to special election which cost the Democrats their super majority in the Senate. Each state can determine this.
