They look for reasons to get rid of them.

Not working? Then we can safely say that all managers, executives and others who mainly sit behind a desk all day are also Not Working! I don't see how it can get any closer. It is an utter outrage for Wal Mart to not provide a chair to its cashiers especially those of senior age. There is absolutely no excuse for that happening in this day and age. And no, I don't buy the lame argument that it would be seen as not working. How many secretaries sit behind a desk all day long and do hard work? Plenty! How many lawyers sit behind their desk and do hard work? Plenty? And what do judges do in court? Do they stand all through a trial? Of course not. It is therefore ludicrous and outrageous to say that an employee is not working if they are sitting down while doing their work.

Get with it Wal Mart! Provide chairs to your senior-aged cashier employees!

We once had an elderly cashier have a stroke on the job (grocery store) and was sitting on the floor in a daze. We were waiting for an ambulance. A customer had a fit as she said had to be somewhere! Unbelievable how selfish and insensitive some people are.

Here I'm going to have to agree.

Give them a chair. Or at least allow them to bring a chair in. This is an entirely reasonable request.
    Thanks from Friday13

There are ways around anti-discrimination legislation-just make the position unattractive to a certain demographic and Bingo! One has skirted the law.

Anti-discrimination laws in hiring are virtually unenforceable. It becomes a bureaucratic waste of time and money to then endlessly debate and litigate where the line in the sand between "reasonable" and "unreasonable" accommodation should be drawn in any given circumstance. If there are dozens of willing very comparable applicants for any given job and some can do it without issue or complaint or need for accommodation whatsoever, why should society be preoccupying itself with whether the employer's decision was technically "discriminatory" or not? It's virtually impossible to prove, and entirely arbitrary to declare. Employers need to be able to select the best candidate for a job that they think is available to them.

My stance is not Republican. My stance is anti-garbage.

I could technically agree with that, but that's not why DailyKos is creating this trash nor why you're regurgitating it.

This is why you're spewing the garbage. It's standard DNC labor union propaganda. It is absolute trash, DailyKos and the Media Matters narrative.

The fact that fewer and fewer of the elderly will be employable this day and age, in addition to becoming less and less employable naturally, is not repugnant. It's reality. They're barely employable, and wouldn't even have jobs if it weren't for Walmart. I know nobody else wants their labor, because if they did, those elderly wouldn't be working at Walmart.
Since you are such an asshole, he is what I would like to do to you.
