WTF Wal Mart?- not even a damn chair for your [mostly elderly] cashiers? You SUCK!
    By macknacat58

"At Wal Mart this afternoon. [I do NOT want to hear about it ok? its the only game in town -if by ‘town’ you mean a fifty mile one way trip] Our cashier — borderline 70 years of age. She’s midway thru her shift and already I can see that she is trying to take the weight off her feet by pressing down on the counter with her hands every chance she can…. My european friend is almost in tears watching this. “God “ she says “In Europe , every till at a store has a highbacked stool for the cashiers. Cannot you ask for one for yourself?” “Oh no maam” replies our friend “my boss, he says if you are sitting you are not working”

    ================================================== ==

Not working? Then we can safely say that all managers, executives and others who mainly sit behind a desk all day are also Not Working! I don't see how it can get any closer. It is an utter outrage for Wal Mart to not provide a chair to its cashiers especially those of senior age. There is absolutely no excuse for that happening in this day and age. And no, I don't buy the lame argument that it would be seen as not working. How many secretaries sit behind a desk all day long and do hard work? Plenty! How many lawyers sit behind their desk and do hard work? Plenty? And what do judges do in court? Do they stand all through a trial? Of course not. It is therefore ludicrous and outrageous to say that an employee is not working if they are sitting down while doing their work.

Get with it Wal Mart! Provide chairs to your senior-aged cashier employees!

sounds like the manager really doesn't want to hire the elderly in the first place.

Age Discrimination In the Workplace Is Against the Law!

But you could be right on that because when the elderly employee gets tired of standing up for 8 hours of continuous working they are going to sooner or later complain or want to take more frequent breaks. That's when management can say they are not up to par and give them their walking papers. I sure hope that's not the case because if it is it would be a real travesty of justice done on their elderly employees.

The family doesn't manage Walmart stores. You guys are mental infants when it comes to Walmart.

Very soon, they won't be hiring elderly in the first place. If it weren't for Walmart being willing to hire them in the first place, most of them wouldn't have jobs. No one else wants their labor.

No one else in society wants to buy their labor. That's not age discrimination. Grow up.

There are many many jobs the elderly cannot do. Hence they are not hired to do those jobs in the first place. Before long, Walmart will not be hiring these elderly people at all. So I would highly recommend you stop pretending you give a shit about the elderly and their working conditions, because soon there will no labor of theirs that anyone in society will be willing to buy. You really do not care at all. You're only looking for sewage-quality excuses to continue whining about Walmart.

They don't MANAGE IT, they are JUST the MAJORITY stock owners! That family of 4 MEMEBERS owns the 50.86. And they have nothing to say about how it is run? Policies? Nice try MENTAL INFANT...

The amount of stock set to go into the trust is worth $15.6 billion at the current price. The Walton family, which founded the company more than five decades ago, owned 50.86 percent of Wal-Mart's stock as of Dec. 31 through an entity called Walton Enterprises, L.L.C., according to Thomson Reuters data. Apr 10, 2015.

Samuel Robson "Rob" Walton, is the oldest Walton son. He served as chairman of Walmart until 2015. I'm sure he had nothing to do with operation of WalMart either. Right?

The Walton family is not going to stick a chair under the ass of whatever geriatric one of its stores put behind a cash register. The Waltons have essentially nothing to do with this. And none of you actually give any shit, you're just scouring the bowels of the internet looking for excuses to continue to bitch about Walmart the same way you have for the last 20 years.

Meanwhile Amazon is pioneering virtually humanless retail operations. So fear not, soon these poor elderly people will not be laboring at all. Because no one in all of society will want nor need their labor.

Because they bring out what's happening to the elderly you call that "...childish garbage..."? Shows how much you truly exemplify the Republican stance as it concerns elderly Americans who are at least trying to work while others do not. Wal Mart should be very proud and honored to have them working there and accommodate them as best they can with a simple chair if it will make their work easier. After all, it's not as if the BILLIONAIRE Company can't afford a simple chair now is it?

They still own it don't they? But regardless, there are many managers in each of their stores who should be paying better attention to the needs of their older employees. After all, asking for a simple lousy chair for an elderly cashier that has to do their work to bring them even more money is not like asking for an arm and a leg from them.

How sad it must be to be you with your repugnant view on the elderly. Perhaps you haven't gotten to that age group yet but you will one day if you don't pass away sooner you know. Then, who knows? It might be you looking for a job at Wal Mart or a similar place and you might have to be faced with standing up for 8 long hours working. Bet you'd complain too and don't say that you wouldn't. Supposedly, you are also a human being. Supposedly.

Stop trying to cause trouble in this thread with your poor excuse for a comeback. You speak of "sewage-quality" but you know what? Your responses are the ones that really STINK!
