    Exclamation America Dumps Its Fracking Waste in My Ohio Town

    America Dumps Its Fracking Waste in My Ohio Town
    By Alison Stine / OtherWords

    "My southeastern Ohio town in the Appalachian foothills is a small, rural place where the demolition derby is a hot ticket, Walmart is the biggest store, and people in the surrounding villages must often drive for 30 minutes to grocery shop."
    "It’s here, at the Hazel Ginsburg well, that fracking companies dump their waste. Trucks ship that sludge of toxic chemicals and undrinkable water across the country and inject it into my county’s forgotten ground."
    "By contaminating the environment, fracking wastewater wells threaten all these businesses. In 2015, tank trucks injected 4 million barrels of waste into my small county alone."

    ================================================== ==

    @MaryAnne @OHjulie are you ladies anywhere near this place? If so, it could affect you in some way! It is incomprehensible how waste could be injected into a small town like this with people still living in it. Why? Where is the government that is supposed to oversee dangerous dumpings like this and what are they saying about it? What is being done to clean up all of that waste that has become so pervasive? Or is it that just because it is a poor Ohio town it is alright to DUMP dangerous stuff there? Is there going to be a Major Outcry to let the powers that be know that residents are serious about this crud being removed from close to their home ASAP? There should be!

    It happens in East Cleveland as well. The Mayor sold the land to a large corporation and turned a blind eye.

    Here is another small town...which sees an abnormal amount of cancer cases, children and adults. This time, uranium dump from the 50's.

    Politicians could care less about the people who elect them.

    Simply OBSCENE! High time to kick the bums out who don't care about those who elect them to be responsible to them!

    Oh I agree...but it will never happen. People will still vote them in no matter what. Cleveland keeps voting in the same Mayor over and over and he absolutely sucks at his job. At the end of the day, all politicians bend to any company who pads their wallets. East Cleveland's Mayor is worse. This is where fixing these problems begin...and move up the chain for results.

    I wonder if Ohio's Governor John Kasich cares anything about this matter? He should. Or is he too just turning a blind eye to the dangerous waste being spilled on his state? We'd like to know!

    And where would you rather America dump its toxic waste?

    Threads like this are killing honest entrepreneurship.

    Make America great and just shut up, will ya?

    He probably doesn't know until it reaches these levels. The local governments are far more corrupt than at the State and Fed level. They sell their souls for businesses.

    It is sad that in light of these news not one local official, state official or federal official has shown an interest to look into this most important matter. After all, it is affecting them also one way or another since they live there or are from that state. Hard to see that no one seems to give one hell of a damn about this situation or the poor people now facing it. Something has to be done about it. Perhaps get a nationwide network like ABC News or CNN or others to go do a story there and interview those affected. That should shame the officials who remain complacent and hopefully they will get off their ass and do something about it!

    No wonder their football team sucks so bad.
