Looks like the teacher was being a Douchebag. Not seeing anything the student did that would qualify as 'heroic' though.

There probably are no grounds for a lawsuit. The issue would be whether the student committed a crime.

Not every state has a statute like that. But thanks for looking up the CA statutes.
It shouldn't be a crime if it is.

You're telling me that a student can't record their teacher without asking them first? I'm sure many students need to or want to record their lectures so they can go back and listen to anything they might have missed.

The students must ask first as a courtesy. I would not record a student without permission. I am asked more in the college setting than in the high school setting. I am fine with recording lectures...I do not allow video's. They could end up on U Tube and that violates my privacy.

Explain how it is. Everybody with a cellphone camera is now a hero? Save the word heroic for actual heroes.

It is if it exposes a teacher teaching students lies about the military.

I think all classrooms should be recorded just like police wear body cams. Then when you have a disruptive student and the parents are called in claiming it's the teachers fault you can show them the video.

I agree. Since the school shootings, all of our class rooms have cameras now. Our Union had a absolute coniption when those cameras were installed because they were exposed as being lazy in the class room. It brought on A LOT of in services about active/physical teaching methods instead of sitting for 6 hours a day giving out "busy work".

Nah, you and the #TrumpCult who are betraying actual U.S. heroes like those in our military and law enforcement are just trying to water down the word "hero". Next think you know you'll be saying you're a hero because you claim you don't know how to take a photo of someone who is gay.

Public school teachers, K-12, should not be so controversial that there lessons cannot be shared. The law is the law, but what are you really going to do to a minor who exposes shit teaching?
I'd settle for explaining the law to the minor, ordering the teacher to knock it off (putting a note in his official file), and not calling the kid a "hero."
