Here's how a president looks, in case you've forgotten

I love Obama's remarks about wanting less gray and smaller ears. Cool portraits, too.

Washington (CNN)Barack and Michelle Obama re-emerged on the public stage Monday in Washington, only this time for an event that has nothing to do with politics.

The former first couple's official portraits were unveiled at the Smithsonian's National Portrait Gallery, a rite of passage for most former presidents, all of whom have their portraits hanging in the museum.

These are perhaps the most anticipated presidential portrait unveilings to date, due in large part to the artists the Obamas selected. The former president chose Kehinde Wiley, a Yale University-trained painter famous for his depiction of African-Americans posed in the style of Old Master paintings, regal, formal and filled with pops of color...

"...'I tried to negotiate less gray hair and Kehinde's artistic integrity would not allow (him) to do what I asked,' Obama joked. 'I tried to negotiate smaller ears. Struck out on that as well.'"

I hope Trump ends up being the first President not allowed a portrait.

I wouldn't be surprised if trump tried to sell them the portrait bought by his charity.

No exaggerated "pop of color" needed with that orange skin.

A president who doesn't take himself too seriously and has a well developed self-deprecating sense of humor is #SADly missed in Washington DC these days.

Don't like the greenery background of Obama's. At all. I think it totally distracts from HIS image, his image being perfectly fine.

Looks mighty fine, huh? Class all the way. The speeches were great, too. Making fun of themselves.

President Obama said the Painter wanted him to look like Napoleon, hand in jacket?

He replied that he had enough Political problems, he did not need to look like Napoleon.

I'm sure by EOD we'll see some racist and/or demeaning Photoshop parodies. If I were going to lampoon the President's, I'd make the chair a toilet. But look for some racist stuff. As soon as I see the first volley, I'll post.
