Lawyer loves Trump so much, he stiffs himself

Trump's lawyer claims he paid off Stormy Daniels to protect the client he loves. Aw... Maybe he did it as a preemptive stiffing?

    --------------------------

President Donald Trump's personal lawyer said Tuesday that he paid $130,000 of his own money to a porn star who allegedly had a sexual encounter with the President before his time in office.

"In a private transaction in 2016, I used my own personal funds to facilitate a payment of $130,000 to Ms. Stephanie Clifford," Michael Cohen said in a statement. "Neither the Trump Organization nor the Trump campaign was a party to the transaction with Ms. Clifford, and neither reimbursed me for the payment, either directly or indirectly."

    ...

When asked why he made the payment, Cohen told CNN: "Just because something isn't true doesn't mean that it can't cause you harm or damage. I will always protect Mr. Trump."

Maybe Trump made a video tape of him and Stormy and sent to Cohen for his personal enjoyment. Lol.

Trump and company sure excel at at least one thing......

    Digging their holes deeper......

It insults the intelligence of Americans. Are they REALLY supposed to believe this BS? In addition, while at first glance, it seeks to suggest Trump was not connected to the payoff, but it does NUTHIN' to offer that Trump did NOT cheat on his current and THIRD wife with someone like "Stormy Daniels" and to keep that quiet was worth paying $130,000 by ANYONE! It also does NOT present the attorney as being very ethical or moral, when it comes to enabling Trump and engaging in an action to bribe someone with hush money to keep this disclosure from the American public trying to get a fix on Presidential candidates.

At what point does all this become the focus of the honesty of the President and an investigation into who actually paid the $130,000?

The more the attorney talks, the more verification there is, that the event took place and that whatever went on, it was worth paying $130,000 to hush one of the prime participants from talking about it.

The natural question anyone might ask and that has been asked already in this thread, is hush money (essentially a bribe) against any laws, if not ethical behavior? How about the efforts that were employed to try to conceal the transaction?

Remember Cohen COINCIDENTALLY had a paper trail for an account opened up under a brand new LLC corp in DE with one sum $130K sum passing through it (in or out?) around the time Stormy was given the same amount.

Maddow told that little anecdotal story when STORMY "blew in" to the news cycle.

I mean come on, give us all a BREAK! It appears they are CROOKED and STUPID.

    FROM VANITY FAIR

A month before the 2016 election, Donald Trump’s personal lawyer, Michael Cohen, reportedly paid a porn star $130,000 to keep quiet about her alleged sexual affair with the man who would become the president of the United States. (Cohen has said that Trump “vehemently denies any such occurrence, as has” the adult-film star in question, Stephanie Clifford, a.k.a. Stormy Daniels.) But here’s the thing about paying off a porn star to bury an alleged affair with the man running for the highest office in land: you can’t just deliver a duffel bag full of cash, or write a personal check. Instead, you must use the time-honored method of rich people attempting to shield their financial transactions from the public eye: the Delaware LLC.

Per The Wall Street Journal Cohen did just that, establishing Essential Consultants LLC on October 17, 2016, according to corporate documents and people familiar with the matter. Cohen almost certainly chose to form the company in Delaware because, unlike other nosy locales, the state doesn’t require companies to reveal the names of their managers. From there, Cohen reportedly sent the payment to Clifford’s lawyer through a bank account linked to his shiny new company, taking pains to further mask the parties involved by using pseudonyms—Clifford was identified as “Peggy Peterson

Is he still Donald's lawyer? Is Donald still paying him? How can the lawyer claim he paid out of his own pocket if Trump fills his pocket.

That is like buying your mom a Valentine's gift with " allowance" from dad. Mom isn't fooled.

Try to imagine a United States President for whom this story would become a minor, back burner scandal.

Prior to Trump, it was unthinkable.

We all need to blame the Republican Party for allowing this to happen to our country.

    In my mind
How is it the president of the United States, mere weeks before becoming president, has a porn star with whom he had an affair paid off, and it gets what seems to be relatively little attention?
