    The original was too wordy.

They both say basically the same thing.

"Fair" access to affordable housing keeps non-discrimination in the mission statement.

That makes the thread title complete bullshit. Try not to let the alt-lift nutbags at Huffpo do your thinking.

He just trolls me with every post about that because I was asked once what my education level was.

He thinks its funny or something.

It actually shows how immature he actually is but whatever.

    He's a janitor.

    What do you expect.

    Sort of ridiculous.
you just quoted this from the OP.

In a March 5 memo addressed to HUD political staff, Amy Thompson, the department’s assistant secretary for public affairs, explained that the statement is being updated “in an effort to align HUD’s mission with the Secretary’s priorities and that of the Administration.”
    Didn't you read it?

How is "fair access to affordable housing" discriminatory?

    lol

Its basically a bunch of words on a website if you want to get technical.

If it is pretty much meaningless "bunch of words on a website," why go to the trouble of changing it?

Mostly I think they should have left well enough alone. Why condense things that are spelled out, if both are supposed to mean the same thing? It's not like they have to get the mission statement to fit into a tweet.

But in fairness, I'm glad they got rid of "HUD’s mission is to... transform the way HUD does business."

Didn't anyone notice that it's a bit vague and recursive?
    Thanks from Friday13

exactly. Why would Carson go out of his way to make sure his agency isn't associated with things like people being discriminated against, having quality housing, or inclusive communities? That's pretty much covers what HUD does. If he doesn't want to be a part of the central purposes of an agency he should quit.

Then why did they waste the time and resources to make the change?
