    Here's the new version:

Old version currently still being used on their website:

    1. No more inclusive communities for all.
    2. No more strengthening the housing market.
    3. No more bolstering the economy.
    3. No more protecting consumers.
    4. No more meeting the needs of quality housing.
    5. No more using housing as a platform to improve the quality of life.
    6. No more being free from discrimination.
    7. No more transforming the way HUD does business.

    What's left?

Thing is HUD's mission statement is derived from the federal regulations that created the agency in the first place. The Secretary is bound by those federal regulation. Carson can't just decide unilaterally to refuse to comply with federal law. At least, that's my understanding of how federal agencies work. If I'm wrong please correct me. I mean, really, please...do correct me.
Really doesn't sound all that different. It's probably actually a better mission statement, technically speaking, because it is more concise.

In all actuality, it'd better off being changed. There are anti- discrimination laws on the books for housing already. There's no need to be redundant.

I think it is further indication that Carson is a few bushels of wheat short of a full pyramid.

Carson can't change laws on his own.

Of course he can't. So why so worried that he changed a mission statement when it doesn't change any laws?
