I think it's absolutely ridiculous, probably even disengenus, to ask her to submit to the most invasive technology we have to offer in order to prove her heritage.

Also, if she doesn't feel the need to provide more than her word, so what? It sounds to me as though the press is going to try and hold Warren to a far higher standard than what's already in the white house.

Its becoming her Achilles heal. Media is beginning to be sort of like "well you could just take this test and settle it all and be done with it" attitude. Its like they are setting her up. Even the Boston media which has been favorable to her are asking her to "just do it and get it over." Its one of those things that wont go away and now the media is putting up the pressure.

That said, Warren absolutely knows her economics. She is 100% correct about tariffs AND about our trade policies.
So you voting for Trump again in 2020? I mean anything is better than the slight stink of Hillary the omnipotent devil on a candidate, amirite?

As a fiscal conservative, I didn't think that I would ever agree with Senator Warren and what I perceive to be her socialistic styled agenda. But, darn we do appear to agree regarding tariffs and trade policy. We need to make our domestic businesses more competitive in the world markets. I'm not sure how one can complain about job outsourcing on the one hand and then oppose efforts to make domestic businesses more competitive in world markets. The problem arises because the American consumer is not willing to pay the price for domestic goods and as such may oppose increasing the cost of foreign made products.

Things are more complicated, cheap imports are one thing, but there is structural problem beside. To give you an example when I was an exchange student before 1970 in the US one US dollar was Worth 4,30 Swiss franc, now it is less than one franc. So the US did benefit over the year of what can be calel a competitive devaluation and should have been able to export a lot with tariffs barriers disappearing more an moreover theyer. But the US have a trade deficit with my country where wages are higher, production costs are higher etc.... So will not reverse the trend just with tariffs if you do not address the structural problem of American industries. There are many factors involved like the lack of skilled manpower in the US, low investments in traditional industries and the refusal to adjust to what foreign consumers are ready to buy. Why US cars are not realyl present in Europe unless they are manufactured by foreign companies in America ? Again it is not a question of tariffs and the Japanese are able to sell their cars here. The American trade deficit is also a question of attitude. And it is very surprising to see the US which were the heralds of open economy ready which boosted their influence in the world to retreat in themselves, often whining about the mean foreigners who are stealing American jobs away. Jobs disappear but it is mostly less qualified jobs and the real point is performance and in the present economy the focus must be on alternative solutions incorporating more knwo how, R&D in products to have better margins. It is what Northern Europe does with success since long and it pays. But for that you need infrastructures in education. To give you another example, I am active asboard member of a company which sells dental products. For us the American market in the US is very poor to sell our sophisticated prosthetic products and it come from the fact, that there are no school to train dental technicians in the US. On the contrary Canada is a good market because you find there such schools. Furthermore if the US starts a trade war, there will be huge problem with the dollars, which is going to loose its importance as an international currency and a loss of influence.

Id like to see her go on the attack over this issue.

Who, in their right mind, would provide their DNA for public and corporate consumption to settle a claim over heritage?
    Thanks from bajisima

Agree but like I said, now with easy testing, people will demand more. Just seeing some tribes now want her to either apologize or take the test.
